Chapter 1. Introduction These release notes provide you with information about the 1.42 VESA TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) software. The VESA TSR, an extension to the Power 9100 BIOS software, is a DOS TSR which supports some VESA extended modes that are not supported by the basic VGA BIOS: specifically, extended modes 110h to 11Bh. It is necessary to install the TSR only if you plan to use these extended modes via a DOS application. Chapter 2 describes the VESA TSR software. Chapter 3 describes known bugs, miscellaneous annotations, and product limitations. 1.1. Support for Bt489, ATT20C511, and RGB514 DACs has been added. 2. Release notes have been added to the product package. 3. The release number has been stepped up so that it matches its companion Power 9100 BIOS software release number. 1.3. Bugs and Problems Corrected Since the Last Release The following bugs and problems (specified as originally reported) in the 1.00 VESA TSR release have been fixed or closed in this release: 1. Fixed: If EMM386 is loaded, the system hangs during loading of the VESA TSR. 2. Fixed: SetGetVideoMemoryWindowControl in ModeInfoBlock must be a FAR call. 3. Fixed: The higher-order word of 32-bit registers was not preserved during set mode. 4. Fixed: Systems with the RGB514 DAC may hang during loading of the VESA TSR. 5.
