                                   snmpman!
                           for Microsoft Windows 3.1

Perhaps the best utility of its kind, perhaps not. You be the judge.

Install

SnmpMan is a Microsoft Windows application that allows you to manage multiple
machines on the same network. To install this application unzip the file
snmpman.zip with the following command : pkunzip -d snmpman.zip c:\snmpman\*.*.
When the files are correctly installed, you must enter MS Windows, go to the
Program Manager and create a new program in your favorite group. Then you must
edit the configuration file "snmpman.ini" with the notepad application and
specify your own options. After this steps you are ready to run this
application.

packages with WINSOCK 1.1. In order to user the network auto discovery the
winsock must provide sockets in SOCK_RAW mode. This application was tested with
Trumpet Winsock Beta#5.

How to Use

This application can notify the presence of a machine by "pinging" it and
supports the SNMP v1 protocol to control the network machines. With the File
menu option you can manage several networks on different files. You can discover
a New network that you can access, Open an existing network, and Save the
current network. With the Edit menu option you can alter the configuration of
the current network. You can Insert a new machine, Change / Delete the selected
machine, Find an existing machine on your current network, and Refresh the state
of the machines on the current network. With the Group menu option you can ask
the agents MIB of the selected machine. You can specifically ask for System,
Interfaces and Address Translation group, and ask for any Other MIB variable.

What's New (since version 1.0)

Bug Reporting

The two known bugs are :
        - running the snmpman.exe with snmpman.ini file open. Gives a violation
        sharing error;

        - if the ping timer ( on snmpman.ini ) is too short the host name
requests has no time to come back, causing an overload of the stack.

Please, if you find bugs or incompatibilities, notify us. Drop us an E-mail or
send us a letter. Include a detailed description of your problem, the system
you're running on, memory available to Windows, version of Windows, mode it's
