Standby.com turns the screen off immediately and temporarly.

Screen turns to normal mode when any key pressed.

No need further effort to install it. Copy it anywhere, then unzip.

Double click if you are using windows. Or, type:
STANDBY <parameter> and press <enter> under dos or dos box in windows.

Parameter you
may enter:               Screen mode
--------------         ---------------------------------------
 nothing                 -> Standby mode (default)
 1                       -> Standby mode
 2                       -> Suspended mode
 3                       -> Off mode
 4 -> Reduce on (flat screens only)

If you enter no parameter it supposes you give "1" as default.

Any other parameter (except 2,3 or 4) results a brief help screen.

No screenout appears when valid parameter entered. Thus,
you may use my program through any program. It doesnt
temper current screen design when valid parameters used.

Furthermore source codes (standby.asm) is included in its original
package if you may want to modify it to fit your individual requests.

Why does a dentist need to write such program?
Well, because my clinic sometimes becomes crowd and I dont like
my patients or their families can see their individual records
on my computer screen. This is the reason why I wrote this program.

You know, windows is capable to close screen after a period if you have
previously adjusted somethings.
But, usually I dont have time to wait for windows will close
screen. I need immediate turn it off. This program just does this.
Hope it helps to any other people too.

Its free, but I dont see any objection to send me one "thank" email.

Bugs:
1. If FlashTek X-32 DOS extender loaded in your computer then, this
program does not select standby option.

2. While SIS 63xx turns to normal screen from standby mode, horizontal
lenght of the screen may be slightly differ from its original value.
In order to fix the bug, go suspended mode then come back to the normal
mode with type Standby 2 <enter>.

3. Despite no further bug reported, take your own risk.
