XENIX SYSTEM V/286 PAYROLL (25-4303) HINTS AND TIPS

1. When printing a multi-page report locally, the first page is
printed correctly, but each following page seems to have an extra
space at the beginning of the first line. This was noticed on the
DMP 200 and the DMP 430 on a DT-100, and a DMP 2100P on a Tandy
Model 16. The DMP 430 only prints 132 characters per line in normal
print, therefore it prints the last digit of the page number in the
first space of the second line.

SOLUTION: Enter the command "FORMFEED=no;export FORMFEED" at the
user prompt. (This was taken from page 6 of the Introduction to
XENIX Accounting System.) Now enter Payroll and print a multi-page
report on the DMP 430, the extra space is gone.

2. In the PR to GL Distribution section of the program, going into
option 3, Distribution file Maintenance, creates a lock on the
distribution file that prevents the interfacing with GL. The user
must return to the "runmm" menu and initialize the lock file before
it will allow the interface.

3. The check register that is printed after the payroll checks are
printed does not form feed to the top of the next form when finished.
Subsequent reports also do not form feed correctly. The user must
exit Payroll then re-enter the program to correct the problem.

4. To print properly, W-2s must be printed on the system printer.
