V2.5 IMPROVEMENT:

   ENHANCEMENT:

This version of "Files Validator" has been enhanced for greater accuracy
since it uses a "signature" system for comparing files.
--------------------------------------
V2.4 CHANGE:

"Proofread" feature was removed. Use "PROOF.EXE" which has more features.

--------------------------------------
V2.3 IMPROVEMENT (NEW FEATURE):

An option is presented for the Directory or Directory "Tree" functions that
allows you to specify a different directory or parent (tree) directory name.
This feature was added incase you renamed a directory after a reference file
was created, or duplicated a directory tree (ex. "WIN-BU" for "WINDOWS").
See "F_VALID.TXT" for more information.
---------------------------------------
V2.2 IMPROVEMENT:

New feature, Validation Report File (option):

Now you can create a report file during a validation process. With hard
disk drives getting bigger, and the number of files accumulating into many
thousands, it can be a nuisance to perform a validation process due to the
pausing that occurs after 20 lines are displayed. If you create a report
file, you can leave your computer unattended while the validation is going
on (no pausing). All the information will go into the report file. You can
examine the report file using any text viewer/editor.

As an added bonus, you can compare two report files to see additional
file changes, missing files, etc. See "READ-ME.DOC" for more details.
---------------------------------------
V2.1 IMPROVEMENT:

  New feature, Directory "Tree" option:

Now you have the option to validate all files in a directory "tree"
(structure). You specify the "parent" directory (path) with a wildcard ("*")
on the end. All files there, plus all files in all "children" directories
(sub-directories) will be validated. This will save you the trouble of
specifying each directory in turn.
--------------------------------------
 V2.0 IMPROVEMENTS:

 1. New feature, "quick proofread" a file:

Now you can quickly proofread a file from the Dos command line by typing
(without quotes): "F_VALID FileName" ("FileName" represents the name of a
file you want to proofread). NOTE: A 32 bit signature is created and split
into "Checksum A" and "Checksum B".

 2. New feature, time and date of reference files:

Now you can see the time and date of the validation reference files during
the selection process.

 3. Reference file selection enhanced:

It is a nuisance to select a reference file every time you want to
"validate" a directory or file when more than one is involved. Now, after
the initial selection, the selected reference file remains selected, unless
you want to select a different reference file.

 4. Other minor enhancements were made.

--------------------------------------
 V1.9 IMPROVEMENTS:

 1. IMPORTANT message added to alert Windows users on how to get a "TRUE"
report. Without this IMPORTANT information, users could get the impression
that FV (Files Validator) is defective.

 2. Display all "VALIDx.REF" files feature was added so the user can see what
he/she has before creating a new reference file.

 3. "MAKELIST.BAT" has been improved so it creates the list of files and
directories ("DIR_FILS.LST") in the same directory you are in.

 4. Minor improvements to creating "VALIDx.REF" to make it easier.
