MANIFEST:

README.BAT - A batch program to display README.TXT
README.TXT - The file you are currently viewing
ICCA.EXE - The executable program file
ICCA.HLP - Online, context sensitive help file
ICCA*.DAT - Sample database files
ICCA*.K0* - Index files

(Note: Only ICCA.EXE and ICCA.HLP are required to have a fully functional
program. ICCA.EXE will create the necessary databases and indexes if they
are missing. For this reason, ICCA.EXE should be run only from within the
subdirectory where the database and index files reside.)

INSTALLATION:

ICCA.EXE requires no special environmental settings. It will run on all but
the earliest versions of DOS (MS, DR or IBM). It will run on an 8088 or better
processor. It requires less than 512k free memory to be fully functional.
It is compiled using a network model, so it should be operative on any
DOS-based network. A suggested installation is to unarchive all of the
files into a single subdirectory that is NOT in the PATH (see Note above).

DOCUMENTATION:

All examples, explanations and documentation are provided via the context
sensitive Help System from within the program. Help is accessable anywhere
via the F1 function key. The program is also distributed with sample
configurations and data files to provide examples of the various options.
It is also assumed that the user has a working knowledge of basic inventory
techniques. It is suggested the new user make liberal use of the F1 key.

HISTORY:

ICCA.EXE is actually the combination of two previously seperate programs
developed for a large chain of nightclubs. The Inventory portion of ICCA is
flexible enough to be useful to a wide array of businesses, especially if
their inventory is scattered in multiple locations. The Cost Analysis
portion, however, will only be useful to a bar operator.

ICCA is writen using the Clarion Professional Developer for DOS, version
2.1. This version dates from 1988. Since then Clarion has merged with
TopSpeed and continues to produce some of the finest Application Developer
tools available. I also have Clarion 4 which, from a single source, can
compile a program for Win3.x, Win9x or NT. But, given the retro nature of
the bar world, I still use the DOS version a lot.

SUPPORT:

None, officially. And, unless something is really broken, 01 will
probably be the last version of ICCA. But I'm always interested to hear
suggestions or complaints and am certainly willing to help the hopelessly
stuck. And, for a nominal fee, I would be happy to modify ICCA to exactly
fit your needs.
