ADVANCED APLICATIONS: 1. Running READ_CLK on a computer without a ROM-CLOCK installed. The READ_CLK program will not harm a PCjr that does not have a ROM-CLOCK installed, but an error message will be displayed. READ_CLK passes back an ERRORLEVEL to the batch file: 0 - Date and time are valid 1 - The date is invalid 2 - The time is invalid A simple change to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file will provide an easy solution to setting the date and time if the PCjr does not have a ROM-CLOCK installed: Original AUTOEXEC.BAT file . . . READ_CLK . . . Modified AUTOEXEC.BAT file . . . READ_CLK IF NOT ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO OK DATE TIME :OK . . . 2. Displaying the date and time as part of your DOS prompt. To display the date and time for every DOS command you enter, add the following line to the end of your autoexec.bat file. PROMPT $T$H$H$H$H$H$H $D $N$G This will cause the prompt to change from the familiar 'A>' to: 14:30 Thu 12-25-86 A>
