All these files include the "optimal" textmode target palette. This palette was calculated so that I first generated all possible colors and then started killing off those which had the least difference. For your convenience, I include the data in several formats; bmp (8bpp uncompressed (windows) bitmap) gif (Compuserve GIF) map (Dave's Targa Animator likes these. 8 bit DAC depth..) pal (6 bit DAC depth raw palette data) pcx (Z-soft PCX) tga (Truevision targa) ..So if the renderer you use can't load the palette from one of these formats, an image converter near you is bound to. Use and abuse as you like.
