NDC Instant-Link Ethernet PCI Adapter NDIS Driver for Microsoft Windows NT 3.1 / 3.5 / 3.51 ===================================================== INSTALLATION PROCEDURE I. Installing the ND5200 driver for Windows NT [tm] ------------------------------------------------------- 1. Open the Windows NT [tm] Networks Control Program Applet (NCPA) from inside the Window Control Panel. 2. Click on [Add_Adapter]. 3. Select [ Requires disk from the manufacturer] in the Add Network Adapter box. 4. Insert the ND5200 driver kit floppy in the floppy drive(A: or B:). 5. Modify the default distribution path in the Windows NT [tm] Setup box to point to the driver located path in "ND5200 Setup disk" then click on [Continue]. For Windows NT 3.1, to specify the path as A:\I386\NT31 For Windows NT 3.5/3.51, to specify the path as A:\I386\NT35 6. Select your option [NDC ND5200 PCI Ethernet Controller ] from the Select OEM Option box. 7. For PCI options, a Dialog box pops up to select the: ConnectionType: o AutoDetection In AutoDetection mode the driver checks first the Twisted Pair port. If the Link Test fails the driver checks to AUI Thinwire. If not carrier is detected the driver switches to AUI Thickwire. o Twisted Pair o Twisted Pair-Full Duplex To connect to Full Duplex hubs o Twisted Pair-No Link Test To connect hubs not supporting the Link Integrity Test o AUI-Thinwire BNC connector 8. Upon completion, one of the following adapters [ [n]NDC ND5200 PCI Ethernet Controller ] appears in the Installed Adapter Cards list of the Network Setting box (n is the adapter number). 9. Click on [Close] to complete the Network Setting initialization. 10. Shutdown and reboot the system. II. Installing multiple PCI boards ----------------------------------- Repeat the procedure described in the previous paragraph. Plug ND5200 PCI adapter into one empty PCI slot and boot up your NT 4.0. 2. Double click the "Network" icon in "Control Panel". 3. Choose "adapters" tab from network properties, and then click the "add" button. 4. Click "Have Disk" button. 5.Insert the ND5200 diskette into floppy disk, type the complete path where ND5200 driver is located: e.g. : a:\I386\NT35, 6.Press "ok" . The screen will show "NDC ND5200 PCI Ethernet Controller". 7.Press "ok" and Press"close" to reboot your system.
