== CURRENT VERSIONS ==
If you are not certain you have the most recent version of the
SuperDisk or the drivers contained on this SuperDisk call
714-474-2033 x34700. This number reaches the Technical Support
voice mail system. Select the LAN driver update option for the
most recent versions of LAN drivers. This message recording
will provide you with the most recent version number for all
LAN drivers as well as information on how to obtain them.
== CONTENTS ==
The following files are located in the main (root) directory of
SuperDisk:
File Contents
README.DOC This file.
JUMPERS.DOC Jumper settings for Western Digital LAN
adapter boards.
SYSMAP.DOC A map showing how computer system resources
are usually used. This will help you
configure a LAN adapter board.
INSTALL.BAT Batch file to copy this diskette to another
disk. To avoid possible conflicts, it puts
the contents in a subdirectory named
"WDPLUS" that it creates. (See Note 1).
@6FC0.ADF Configuration file for Ethernet Micro
Channel (*) adapters (on 3-1/2 inch
diskettes only).
@6FC1.ADF Configuration file for StarLAN Micro Channel
adapters (on 3-1/2 inch diskettes only).
xxx.LAN, NetWare v2.1 driver files that are required
xxx.OBJ to be in the root directory.
Drivers for each LAN operating system are located in separate
subdirectories as follows:
Subdirectory Contents
NETWAR20
Novell Advanced NetWare (*) v2.0a
NETWAR21 Novell Advanced NetWare, SFT NetWare,
and ELS NetWare Level II v2.1 and
later versions
NWPATCH Patch Utility for NetWare Drivers
NETBIOS Western Digital NETBIOS/OSI Interface
Program for use with NETBIOS-based
software such as the IBM (*) PC LAN
Program and Microsoft MS-NET (*)
3PLUS 3Com 3+ (*)
DECNET DEC DECnet-DOS (*) and DEC PCSA (*)
LANMAN 3Com 3+ Open, Microsoft LAN Manager,
and NDIS driver (DOS and OS/2)
On all 3-1/2 inch diskettes and 5-1/4 inch diskettes labeled
Diagnostics:

In addition to the driver itself, each subdirectory contains:
o an INSTALL.DOC or USER.DOC file that explains how to
install and use the software; and
o a RELEASE.DOC file that states the current version,
release date, and any improvements that were made
in this version of the software.
Note 1: The INSTALL program only copies files to the target
drive. If you are installing NetWare then you MUST use the
Driver disk itself. Novell requires a certain volume label on
the driver disk, and this label is not copied to the target disk
(whether it is a floppy or hard disk). DISKCOPY should be used
if you need additional Driver disks for Novell installations.
The 5.25 inch SuperDisk set includes a Diagnostic Disk.
Included on the Diagnostic disk is a network utility called NADD
which is used to identify LAN boards in your PC. Please refer
to the README.DOC file on the 5.25 inch SuperDisk Diagnostics
disk for more information. These programs are on the single 3.5
inch Micro Channel SuperDisk.
All of the drivers on the SuperDisk function with both XT/AT bus
systems and Micro Channel bus systems:
StarLAN: StarCard PLUS (WD8003S)
StarLink PLUS (WD8003SH)
StarCard PLUS/A For Micro Channel (WD8003ST/A)

to communicate with minicomputers, mainframes, and
engineering workstations using the DoD standard
TCP/IP protocols. PC/TCP (*) features include file
transfer, remote host login and 3270/VT100 terminal
emulation, remote program execution, electronic
mail, and a NETBIOS interface.
