STANDARD MICROSYSTEMS CORPORATION FTP Packet Driver For EtherCard PLUS Family LAN Adapters RELEASE INFORMATION Version 2.03 14 August 1991 VERSION HISTORY -- Version 2.03 (Current Release) -- Fixed problem where board would fail memory test during initialization on 16-bit LAN Adapter boards, when installed in a system with a 16-bit VGA board that was configured in forced 16-bit mode (ie. not autosense). Added support for 8K, 32K, and 64K ram sizes on 1. SMC8013EP/A 2. SMC8013WP/A LAN adapter cards (16K already supported). -- Version 2.02 -- This version includes support for the following SMC Ethernet cards. 1. SMC8013EP/A 2. SMC8013WP/A This version fixes the following bugs found in version 2.01. 1. Interrupts 10, 11 and 15 now work with the WD8013EB and WD8013EBT. 2. Loading, unloading, and then reloading the Packet Driver now works. -- Version 2.01 -- This version contains a modification which will allow Novell's NetBIOS to be loaded after IPX.COM and before the packet driver (8003PKDR). Previously 8003PKDR would function only if loaded prior to Novell's NetBIOS. This version contains modifications for the WD83C690 Network Interface Controller. This version or later versions must be used with adapters which contain the WD83C690. NOTE Use of adapters which contain the WD83C690 with previous versions of this driver may lead to data integrity problems. -- Version 2.00 -- This release of the Packet Driver conforms to the FTP Software's Packet Driver Specification v1.09. It can be loaded as a "Stand-Alone" driver as well as be loaded on top of the NetWare Shell (IPX.COM) driver sharing the LAN adapter with the NetWare Shell. This driver has been tested with FTP's PC/TCP, Wollongong's WIN/TCP, and NCSA's TELNET software packages. The INSTALL.DOC contains information on installing with each these software packages. -- Version 1.00 -- This is the first official release of this PC/TCP Packet Driver v1.00. It conforms to the FTP Software Packet Driver Specification v1.08, and implements the "basic" functions. The driver runs on top of the Netware Shell driver (IPX.COM), and the two drivers share one adapter to transfer both TCP/IP packets and Netware packets. In order to use this driver, you must have the Netware IPX.COM generated with driver (.OBJ & .LAN) release v3.07 files or later. This driver can not be used with the StarLAN driver using the Novell/AT&T StarLAN packet format.
