==================================================== = CN100TX(B) PCI-BUS FAST ETHERNET ADAPTER = = Driver Installation Procedure = = >>> PC/NFS = ==================================================== The PC/NFS driver files are in the \PCNFS subdirectory of this diskette. 1. Prepare the QuikNDIS diskette which contains the drivers for PC-NFS. The adapter driver can not be installed without it. Insert the diskette into drive A: or B:. 2. Insert this adapter driver disk into the other floppy drive. 3. Run the QuikNDIS command. The "NDIS Driver Menu" will appear. 4. From the NDIS Driver Menu, type "0" to choose "Third-Party Driver". 5. Key in the drive letter and path of the PCNFS adapter drivers, e.g. A:\PCNFS The files will automatically be copied from the diskette to the system. 6. After the files are copied, a message will appear saying "CNet CN100TX(B) Fast Ethernet Adapter". Check that the driver name is "DC21x4$". 7. Using a text editor, edit the CONFIG.SYS file to add the adapter driver. DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\DC21x4.DOS The program will also update the PROTOCOL.INI file automatically. 8. Check the parameters of the PROTOCOL.INI file to ensure the correct line speed and operation mode have been set. See the User's Manual and the README.1ST file (section "Auto-Negotiation with the Attached Device") for more details. 9. Reboot the workstation. ###
