What can Worgan do?
--------------------
WORGAN v1.1 handles a majority of the writer's note keeping
tasks. It's major feature is a notebook, in which there are several
different categories of card files (Plot, Character etc...)
It can generate random characters, as well as allow a writer to play
with his ideas, mixing and matching plots and characters in strange
ways. Random word generation, random lists, and searching capabilities
are also included.
There is also a research index, to keep track of all your
text notes, allowing you to group ideas.
This product could find use by non-fiction writers,
fiction writers, roleplayers, and anyone else who needs to keep
his/her ideas organized in a useful format.

--------------------
Last minute updates:
--------------------

- try not to have exactly duplicate character names, this confuses the Sort Character function. Also make sure you have groups specified
for all character, even if it something like Unused or such.

- also avoid using the # character. The data files for the
notebook are simple textfiles (making it easy to convert
existing ASCII documents into use by the card-files in notebook).
The # is used to seperate sections, as well the ## to mark the end
of a file.

- when you use the Backup options, all your important data files
are backed up to the directory you specified under Setup.
If you later erase your originals, just copy these files back into
your Worgan directory (they will be *.obj files, used by
the notebook -- they are called obj files, but in fact they
are only text -- as well as *.pxt files used by the research index).

- if you press F3 after performing a search, it will start
searching again, assuming the searched for term isn't on the current
card. (Make sure you Next click to the next card in
sequence first)

-saving inside of Notebook is done automatically. You can force
a save if you right-click and get the pop-up menu. Choose *Save*
from the top of that menu.

-some of the user interfaces (I'm especially thinking of
the Research Index here) are somewhat crude. This is what works for
me, but I would like to hear what sorts of ideas you have for a
friendlier interface. All ideas will be considered.

Future Versions
& other products
--------------------

*What to expect in Ver 1.2*

- Later versions will probably support image and
HTML research indexes too.
- possible writer's To-do list
- writing project organizer

*Other products*

- the only other product that I have wrote that I might
send out is something called Dimfo. It's a product
that uses the AD&D(c) role-playing game rules, and as such can
only be freeware. It is a DM's assistant, keeping track of hit points
etc... as well as being a combat time keeper and a bunch of other
stuff that I needed when I used to DM. I'm finding out right now
whether and how I can distribute this product.
- Email me if you're interested (it's <300k zipped so I could send
it in email, if I'm allowed).
