INTERNET SEARCH CENTER for Windows 95

What does I.S.C. do?
Internet Search Center is a Windows 95 application that takes care of searching the Net using searchengines. No need to remember or to bookmark URL's of searchengines. No need to rewrite keywords when trying out more than one searchengine.
I.S.C. lets you choose a category (Software, People, Usenet, The Web etc.) and a searchengine (AltaVista, Lycos, Hotbot etc.) After you type your keyword(s) and press the searchbutton, I.S.C. will display the searchresults in the browser of your choice (currently Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer are supported).
Categories and Engines can be added, edited and deleted, so you can build your own database of favourite engines.I.S.C. comes with more than 30 predifined engines and can handle up to 100 engines in total !

What does it cost?
I.S.C. comes in two versions: shareware and registered.
The shareware version is fully functional, but has a shareware reminder after you activate a search. The registered version costs Hfl 4,- for users inside The Netherlands and US $ 3,- for users from other countries.I.S.C. is distributed by E-mail only.
Contact the author on how to transfer the money.

Installation
Step 1	: Unzip the I.S.C. file (since you read this file, you managed to do so already)
Step 2	: Run "setup.exe" and the complete package will be installed in a directory of your choice.
Step 3	: Run ISC.exe.
Step 4	: Hit the SETUP button, click the "General" tab and select the browser of your choice.
Step 5	: Establish an internet connection.
You are now ready to use I.S.C. !!

How does it work?
There is really not much to it.
Select a category, select an engine, type your search keyword(s), hit the searchbutton (the hourglass) and off you go !
Clicking the engine's logo will take you to the selected engine's homepage.
Clicking the advanced button (flashlight) will take you to the selected engine's advanced searchpage.
Clicking the setup button will take you to the setup screens.
In the setup window you can change some of the general settings, but most important, this is the place where you can edit,
add and delete searchengine settings.

How to add an engine
When you have found a searchengine you like, just type in a keyword on the engines searchpage (for example: "TEST).
Using the popular searchengine HOTBOT after a search the following string is displayed in the location window of your browser:

	http://www.hotbot.com/?SW=web&SM=MC&MT= TEST &DC=10&DE=2&DV=6&RD=AN&date=WH&FVR=0
	| |	|
	PREFIX KEYWORD SUFFIX

You dont have to understand the variables, just recognize the prefix/keyword/suffix structure.
Go to the "Engines" tab of the I.S.C. setup screen and click "Add". .A screen appears in which you can specify the engine
settings.

Engine settings:
Name Engine's name (Hotbot, AltaVista etc.)
Category	Engine's category (The Web, Usenet, People, Files etc.)
Homepage	Homepage URL (http://www.hotbot.com)
Search prefix	The string that is located before your keyword when you manually search the searchengine (http://www.hotbot.com/?SW=web&SM=MC&MT=)
Cut this part from you engine's location display and paste it into I.S.C.
Search suffix	The string that is placed after your keyword when you manually search the searchengine (&DC=10&DE=2&DV=6&RD=AN&date=WH&FVR=0)
Cut this part from you engine's location display and paste it into I.S.C.
Engine logo	A .bmp file representing the engine's logo
