	Win Convert Version 1.8

This application is a easy to use Metric/Standard measurement
conversion tool. It provides forty-five different conversions from Area
to Temperature.

Win Convert has a graphical toolbar for point and click
use. Also provided are easy to use menus with accelerator keys for easy
keyboard access. With a right click of the mouse button you can access a
popup menu with the major commands for even faster use. Win Convert
also supports copying and pasting of text between applications.

There are several program settings that can be changed by using the options dialog. This dialog can be accessed by using the File|Option... menu item or the Options... menu item from the Popup menu. With this options dialog you can set whether or not to use the toolbar or see the status bar. Also here is where you set up the the Calulator toolbar and menu item. You can just use the Windows Calulator or choose your own application to use. (Actually it doesn't even have to be a calculator.) But if you choose to use the Windows Calculator you can set it to Scientific or Standard.

Installation

To install simply copy all of the contents of the archive to a
temporary directory. Then run the setup.exe application. This
application will setup Win Convert by making the application directory,
of your choice, copying the files and registering the OLE controls.
Also it will create the appropriate Programs Manager/Start Button Icons.
Please note this application requires the VB4 runtime libraries to run. This is vb40016.dll and other updated files. You can get these files from these FTP sites on the internet. (Among others)

   mjablecki.extern.ucsd.edu	archive/cica/win95/miscutil/vb4run16.exe
   ftp.winsite.com pub/pc/win95/miscutil/vb4run16.exe
   ftp.cdrom.com pub/win95/miscutil/vb4run16.exe
   Wuarchive.wustl.edu systems/ibmpc/win95/miscutil/vb4run16.exe

Unforutanetly these directories and/or filenames may change, so don't hate me if they're wrong. If you search vsl.cnet.com you will probably find what you need if these FTP sites don't help. You may wish to know why I don't include the VB4 runtimes with my application. (or maybe not :-)) Well, the archive was over two megs with it and that's a little outragous for such a simple program. Also, if you already have VB4 runtimes installed on your machine you don't need them again.

This application is Public Domain, and freely distributable. All I
ask is that all the files of this archive stay together and the
executable is not tampered with. There is no registration fees but
an E-mail message from anyone who would like to let me know how
I'm doing would be appreciated. I can be contacted at xpress@ix.netcom.com.
