NS-File Version 1.1 Description / Instructions (06 Mar 1997)

Short Description :
Converts a list of IP addresses to Host names.

If you have ever had a large log file full of IP numbers you wanted to convert to domain names
and didn't like the thought of doing it manually with NSLookup then this program is for you.
With NS-File you simply select your input file containing a list of IP numbers, decide on a name
for the output file and click start.
NS-File will read a line from the input file and convert all IP addresses found to host names,
a line is then written to the output file with the IP address either replaced with the host name
or the host name placed after the IP address.

If you select "Place names next to IP addresses" you can choose a delimiter character to place
between the IP address, either TAB or SPACE, this can be set from the "Options" Menu.

You can set the file viewer independently for viewing the input and output files.
Depending on the size of the files you are intending to work with I would suggest notepad
for windows and Wordpad for Win95. As and alternative you may want to use Microsoft Excel
or similar as the output file viewer if your files contain more than one IP address per line.
When Excel loads the file select the delimited option and choose either SPACE or TAB depending
on how you have set the formatting options on NS-File.

Requirements :
"VBRUN300.DLL" file in your windows or Win95 directory.
Winsock compliant IP stack. (Trumpet or Win95 TCP or Similar)
