Introduction
------------
The Task Manager Plus programs are distributed as shareware. You are licensed to

for details of how to register.

Task Manager Plus requires that you have Windows 3.1 or above, and Network Task
Manager Plus requires Windows for Workgroups 3.1 or above.

NOTE: Task Manager Plus may run with Windows 3.0 if the files TOOLHELP.DLL and
DDEML.DLL have been added to your system. This has not been tested.

What's in the package...
------------------------
When you received your copy of Task Manager II you should have the
following files.

README.TXT - This file
NTASKMAN.HLP - Help file
NTASKMAN.EXE - Network Task Manager Plus
TASKMAN2.EXE - Non-network Task Manager Plus
CTL3D.DLL - 3-D controls library v1.0

_MSETUP.EXE - The setup program.

How to install manually
-----------------------
The _MSETUP program supplied performs the following actions.

1. Copies and expands NTASKMAN.EX_ (WFW) or TASKMAN2.EX_ (W31) to NTASKMAN.EXE
   in your Windows directory.

NOTE: To copy and expand the installation files manually you must use the
Microsoft EXPAND utility that comes with Windows.

2. Copies and expands NTASKMAN.HL_ to NTASKMAN.EXE (WFW & W31) in your Windows
   directory.
3. Copies and expands CTL3D.DL_ to CTL3D.DLL (WFW & W31) in your Windows System
   directory.
4. Adds the line,

       taskman.exe=ntaskman.exe

to the [boot] section of the SYSTEM.INI file (WFW & W31).
5. Adds the line,

       NTASKMAN$=ntaskman,tasks,,31,,0,,0,0,0

to the [DDEShares] section of the SYSTEM.INI file (WFW only). This line will
be modified if a password is added later on.
6. Adds the section,

       [NTaskMan]

to the WIN.INI file (WFW & W31). See the help file for details of the switches
   in this section.

Known Bugs
----------
There is a problem with running CVW 4.x when Task Manager Plus is running in
'Keep Alive' mode. Switch this mode off whilst you are debugging.

If your Windows network drivers fail to initialize, Network Task Manager will
not run. Switch to the non-network version whilst your network is disabled.

We really hope you enjoy the work we've done in Task Manager Plus. Look out for
more fun and useful applications coming your way soon in the Bits 'n' Bobs for
