When you have finished set the following:

Control Panel
Desktop
Screensaver
Select "Bitmap Saver"

Then go back to Desktop and set the time interval you want.

Things To Check

Check that the directory with the fractals in it is in your Path (see your autoexec.bat file)
If not PUT IT THERE.
Or - put the fractals in a directory that is in your path such as Windows.

Restart Windows

You can choose whether you want them randomly presented etc.

Note: These pictures are stills and do not look their best if
you select move or slide options in the screensaver. They are best ignored.
Play if you must but the results are icky.

bmpsaver.scr, Ver 1.5
Bitmap Saver, Windows 3.1 Screen Saver
Freeware, Copyright (C) 1996 Phil Robinson

Here is a free screen saver for all to enjoy. It flashes, slides,
or displays bitmap files around the screen. The setup window
keeps a list of the bitmaps. You can select to use only some
files from the list or use all of them.

*** Installation ***
To install in Windows 3.1, copy the file bmpsaver.scr to your
windows directory (usually c:\windows). Then select Bitmap
Saver in the Control Panel/Desktop control window. You
also need to make sure that ctl3d.dll and spin.dll files
(included with this saver) are in the windows system directory
(usually c:\windows\system). Be sure not to overwrite a newer
version of ctl3d.dll.

To install in Windows95, copy the file bmpsaver.scr to your
windows directory (usually c:\windows). Then select Bitmap Saver
in the Display Properties/Screen Saver tab. To get the Display
Properties window, right click on the open desktop region and
select properties from the menu. You also need to make sure that
ctl3d.dll and spin.dll files (included with this saver) are in the
windows system directory (usually c:\windows\system). Be sure not
to overwrite a newer version of ctl3d.dll.

*** Instructions ***

Use the settings button to modify the settings for this screen
saver. The settings are saved in the control.ini file in your
windows directory.

Known Bugs:

- I don't believe that this program will work with bitmap files
that have more than 256 colors.

- This program uses a rather picky algorithm to read the bitmap
file header. If there is an error reading the file header, the
program will display the HHG green guy instead. You can usually
correct the bitmap file by reading it into paintbrush and then
  saving it again.

- The "Clear Screen every _n_ pictures" mode does not look very good
with multiple 256 color bitmaps on a display in 256 color mode,
  due to the palette switching.
