                          TROUBLESHOOTING SHHPOONNK

SHHPOONNK STOPS PLAYING AND ANOTHER SCREENSAVER STARTS PLAYING:
Be sure to disable any other Windows screensavers before you use
  Shhpoonnk.

FILE ERROR: CANNOT FIND AAPLAY.DLL
Shhpoonnk requires the files AAPLAY.DLL and AAVGA.DLL to be present
in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to run properly. If these files
have been removed from this archive or diskette, you may be able to find
them on a local BBS. They are also in the ASOFT forum on Compuserve.

SCRIPT FILE ERROR: AALOAD COULD NOT LOAD THE SCRIPT FILE
Use a text editor (Notepad) to examine the currently selected script.
Verify the paths for each line in the script file are correct, and
the animations exist in the specified directory.

CORRUPTED DISPLAY or WON'T DISPLAY ANIMATIONS PROPERLY.
Try changing the Int2f setting. Restart Shhpoonnk to enable new
  setting.

ANIMATION IS NOT PLAYING FULL SCREEN
Make sure that AAVGA.DLL is in the C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Also
use the script editor to verify the Use Full Screen setting for the
  animation is enabled.

ANIMATION IS JERKY
The FLI animations should play smoothly on a 386-33 or better machine.
If the hard drive is being accessed during animation playing, use the
script editor to enable the Load Into Memory setting for that
animation. If only one animation is present in the script, and you
want looping, use the script editor to change the Duration setting for
that animation to Forever, instead of using a looping script.

MIDI WARNING DIALOG APPEARS BUT NO CURSOR IS PRESENT
This annoying problem occurs when Windows detects a non-standard header
on the MIDI file being accessed by your script. Unfortunately, Shhpoonnk
has hidden the cursor at this point, making it nearly impossible to
select the little checkbox that will disable the warning. Fear not, the
solution is at hand. Hold down the <Alt> key and press <F4>. A dotted
line will appear around the checkbox and its associated text. Now press
the spacebar. An "X" will appear in the little checkbox. Press enter
and the warning will be gone the next time you start Shhpoonnk. Should
you wish to reenable the warning: Open the file c:\windows\system.ini in
any text editor (like Notepad). Find the section beginning with:

  [mciseq.drv]

  Find the line: disablewarning=true
  Change it to read: disablewarning=false

Save the file and exit. The warning will now reappear.

SCREEN GOES BLANK AND/OR SYSTEM LOCKS UP WHEN SHHPOONNK IS RUN
If you have already tried changing the Int2f setting, your hardware may
be incompatible with the animation player routines in AAPLAY.DLL. You
won't be able to use Shhpoonnk to play the animation, but there are
other FLI animation players available. Check around on local BBS's for
AAPLAY.EXE or QUICKFLI.EXE, two great freeware DOS animation players.
You can also probably find a player by checking on Compuserve, AOL, or
  other online information services.
