Make Your Own Network Screen Saver - by Carner Enterprises
               Version 1.0   October, 1995

******************************************************************

Make Your Own Network Screen Saver is a compact, fast and
easy to use program that allows you to choose up to 5 of
your favorite bitmaps for alternate display. The program works
equally well on a stand-alone PC or a PC on a network, but it is
intentionally designed to load bitmaps only once when the
screen saver begins, not reloading the bitmap each time it
is displayed. This makes the display of bitmaps on clients
or workstations possible while minimizing network traffic. The
program is ideal for displaying business information (pictures
of projects, photos of personnel, advertisements, etc.) that is
controlled from a centralized network drive. Individual users
may use the program to load favorite photographs etc. from
network drives or from the local drive.

You can choose any interval from 10 seconds to 1 minute between
displays.

SHAREWARE:
=========
Please read the sharware.txt file included in this zip file
for a description of the shareware concept and information
about distribution.

Registration:
=============
You may use this program in your environment for a 14 day
evaluation period. After that time, you are asked to either
purchase the program by registering with Carner Enterprises,
or discontinue its use. Please refer to the file REGISTER.TXT
for registration information. The registration fee chart is also
located under the Registration button in
the "setup" dialog for the screen saver (located in
Control Panel - Desktop).

Setup:
======
Unzip MYONETSS.ZIP into a temporary directory or directly into your
windows directory. The zip file contains this readme.txt file,
sharware.txt and MYONETSS.SCR. Windows screen saver applications
have the file extension .scr and must reside in the windows directory.

If you did not unzip directly into the windows directory, copy or move
MYONETSS.SCR into the windows directory used by your PC(s).
If you are running on a network, you may wish to confirm with your
network administrator whether your machine is using the local drive
for windows or a network drive. If you are running windows from a
network drive and you place the screen saver in your local drive,
Control Panel - Desktop will not be able to find the program.

Once MYONETSS.SCR is in the windows directory, bring up Control
Panel and select Desktop. In the Screen Saver group box you will see
a drop-down listbox. Open the list and select Make Your Own Network SS.
Next press Setup...The Make Your Own Network Screen Saver configuration
dialog will appear. To add a bitmap, type its name, for example
- winlogo.bmp in the Bitmap name editbox. Press Add Bitmap and
MYONETSS will search for the file. MYONETSS looks in the
windows directory and your path to locate bitmaps you have
chosen to display. If it finds it, it will be added to your list.
You may add up to 5 bitmaps. If the bitmap name you type in
is not in your path or windows directory you will receive a
message telling you the program can't find the bitmap file.
Check your spelling and the location of the bitmap and
try again.

Please note that the bitmaps are all loaded at once. Depending on
the configuration of your PC, large bitmaps combined with small amounts
of RAM may cause excessive swapping.

When the program runs, you will first see a logo
screen until the first bitmap is displayed. From
that point forward, the bitmaps will simply display on the screen
sequentially - at the time interval you specify (10 to 60 seconds).
If you type a number less than 10 or greater than 60, the program will
reset to the minimum or maximum value.

Technical Info:
===============
This program reads bitmap files (.bmp extension) in Windows 3.0 or greater
format. There may be some bitmaps with older file formats that it cannot
read. It can read 16 and 256 color bitmaps, but if you are using a
16 color video driver and load a 256 color bitmap, the colors may
look odd without a 256 driver. Check your windows and video board
documentation to see if you have a 256 color driver available. If you are
unsure of how to change drivers, get some help from someone with
experience. Loading the incorrect driver could hang your system, so be
careful. Note: When the program loads bitmaps, it searches your
path. If you have read a floppy or CD drive in file manager and
removed the diskette (or CD) without closing the file manager
window, the program will error trying to read the drive with no
diskette. Simply close the window in file manager to resolve the
problem.

This program does not read compressed file formats such as
GIF or JPG files.

TSRs:
=====
Some programs, especially TSRs or other background programs
(such as virus checkers) may disrupt the operation of MYONETSS
and result in unpredicatable behavior.

To uninstall:
=============
To uninstall, simply delete MYONETSS.SCR from your windows directory.
