Hello!

I am glad you have decided to try Windows Mail Manager (WMM).
I hope you will like it, and register it. You will find registration
form in the help file. In the second half of this file you will find
instructions for installing and upgrading the program.

*** NOTICE *** If you do not have VBRUN200.DLL on your hard disk, you
*** NOTICE *** need to get one (see instructions for instalation).

WMM is QWK off-line mail reader with message base, for Windows.
WMM features are:
- message base - WMM stores messages in a base, so you can read them or
reply to them later; you can make one base for each BBS
- windows help file - gives you context sensitive help
- almost everything can be done with both, keyboard and mouse
- deletes duplicates - WMM can search for duplicated messages in
message base and mark them for deleting
- off-line conference selection - is supported by WMM, if your BBS' mail
door program supports it, you'll be able to use it
- toolbar - there is a toolbar for easier browsing through messages
- address list - you connect a person with a conference and his fidonet
address, and than you can select him from list box, when writing
a reply or entering a message
- groups - similar to address list, you make a group of people (and their
fidonet addresses) and then you can write a message to the group
- carbon copies - you can post message, you wrote, to other addresses
- forwarding - WMM allows you to put a message someone else has written
        to another conference
- user-selected editor - simple editor, which will arrange lines if they
are too long is comming with WMM, but you can use any other
- auto heading & ending of replies - you can write the text that appears
on the begining or at the end of each reply, forwarded message, ...
- adds fidonet addresses to replies - you select in which conferences and
how to put fidonet address, which WMM than gets from the message
you are replying to or from special file (if you have one)
- library - you can add special messages to a library and add keywords
to them, so you can easily find them later
- sound - WMM supports sound; you can set .wav fles to be played on
        different occasions
- twit filter - you can make a list of disliked persons and WMM will
        spare you from their messages
- remarks - you can write remarks about discussions on BBS etc.
- printing, saving to a file and copying message to clipboard
- WMM can be translated to any language, supported by Windows - (see help)
- user definable colors - different colors for different kind of messages

There is also WMM Tools with some useful tools (e.g. converting WMM
message base back to QWK packet) and Papirus, a small editor, which
keeps lines under 72 chars limit. They are both freeware.

to have english WMM. That is why they are named .LNE, .LE1 etc. and not
.LNG, .LN1 etc. as it is required for proper action.

*** INSTALATION ***   =====*****=====*****=====*****=====*****=====

If you do not have VBRUN200.DLL, you will need one. You should
find it on the nearest BBS. Put it in the same directory as files
listed above (the unpacked archive). If there is already vbrun200.dll
in your windows directory, you don't need (another) one.

Run setup.exe from Windows and choose setup. Setup will copy files marked
with * to selected directory and (unless one is already there) VBRUN200.DLL
to windows directory. It will also create WMM group in Program Manager.

Then run WMM and set options in Options|General and Options|Replies,
BEFORE doing anything else. Survival Guide topic of help will help you
with your first steps, as well as WELCOME.WMM message base.

*** UPGRADE ***   =====*****=====*****=====*****=====*****=====

Run setup.exe from Windows and choose upgrade. When asked for the
directory name, write the existing WMM directory. Setup will copy files
that need to be replaced to that directory. It will also create WMM group
in Program Manager. WMM.INI file will not be deleted.

*** NOTICE *** If you are upgrading from any EARLIER version that WMM 1.3,
you HAVE TO go to Options|General and Options|Replies menus and press
OK button in both windows, because some changes have to be made!!
For each message base, you HAVE TO go to the Options|BBS Specific and
re-set the way you want WMM to put fidonet addresses, because the versions
from (including) 1.3 on do not recognize the settings from versions 1.2 or
earlier !!!

If you wish, you can set Options|Sound.

*** THE END ***  =====*****=====*****=====*****=====*****=====

My fidonet and internet address are written in Help|About. If you have
any questions or problems, you can contact me. You'll find all details
about registration in help file. (When help is displayed, click
register button) Enjoy!
