TESTING FORMAT:

As you know, MCP Endeavor does not exclusively use a multiple choice
format. Multiple choice works to evaluate a users knowledge when a test
is taken for the first time. It also greatly simplifies both the testing
and scoring process. This appeals to test administrators, it makes
evaluation easy. However, when a multiple choice based testing program
is used as a learning tool, many problems and inadequacies become obvious.
This is especially true when the same tests are taken repeatedly.
Answers, both the correct and the incorrect, become familiar. A users
responses can become based more on recognition than true retention or
comprehension. When a user is challenged to provide a short answer
(without seeing the correct answer right on the screen), the true depth
of knowledge becomes readily apparent. The primary objective of
MCP Endeavor is to test the users true knowledge and to refine the study
process helping the user become aware and manage strengths and weaknesses.
MCP Endeavor records an extensive performance history. The program can
quickly help users tailor their learning efforts based on an extensive
"past performance" database. MCP Endeavor offers so much more than the
ability to retest the wrong answers from the most recently attempted
test. Using the "control panel", which presents a variety of criteria,
users can then easily construct personalized tests to help them properly
direct their learning efforts. The material is constantly being
filtered in new ways keeping the presentation fresh. MCP Endeavor will
help you create and manage a comprehensive and truly personal study
program. To learn more, please read the MCPENFAQ.WRI file.
