Installation Notes for IBM infoMarket NewsTicker

The following files are installed on your system into the
listed locations:

16-Bit Installation

ticker.exe     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
ticker.ini     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
ticker.hlp     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
readme.txt     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
bwcc.dll       --> c:\windows\system

32-Bit Installation

ticker32.exe   --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
ticker.ini     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
ticker.hlp     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
readme.txt     --> c:\ticker (or other selected directory)
bwcc32.dll     --> c:\windows\system

This application requires Winsock version 1.1. If the ticker does not start, you may
want to check to see if an existing BWCC.dll exists in the \WINDOWS or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory. If it does, you may want to delete this file and re-install the ticker.
Some installation programs do not correctly install this file and the file's date may be
in error.

If you are using a SOCKS firewall, be sure to use the ticker configuration button to
change the server setup accordingly. If your site is particularly busy, SOCKS may
timeout before it can respond to a NewsTicker request. This is normal for a busy SOCKS
server and there is no particular NewsTicker fix for this.
