Use:

MVS is designed to simulate the performance of a vehicle given various statistics about weight, power and the like. Once statistics are entered, modifications can be simulated on the computer, hopefully reducing the number of actual performance runs needed.

This program provides quite good estimates of top speed. However quarter mile and 0-100 (or 0-60) times are not quite as accurate.

Installation is simply a matter of copying Motorsim.exe to a suitable location and adding an icon in program manager.

Running MVS

On running MVS, the main screen appears. This screen contains options for loading, editing, saving and graphing vehicles.

Menu items and buttons are all fairly self explanitory. However I'll explain them anyway.

Menu items are as follows:
File:
Open: Clears all currently loaded vehicles and loads a new set.

Open/append: Loads a list of vehicles without and adds to the
	current list.

Save: Prompts for a filename and saves the current vehicle list.

Printer Setup: allows changing of printer varribles.

    Exit:

Options:
Metric: allows switching between Metric and Imperial units. Set
	to Metric by default.

Help:
About: The usual blurb about the program etc.

Speed buttons for some of these items have been provided on the toolbar.

All loaded vehicles are shown in the vehicle list. Items in this list nust be selected before being operated on. Multiple vehicles can be selected using Shift or Ctrl when clicking.

Vehicle editing buttons are as follows:

Add: Creates a new, blank vehicle and adds it to the vehicle list.

Delete: Deletes all currently selected vehicles.

Duplicate: Creates a duplicate of all currently selected vehicles.

Edit: edits the currently selected vehicle. Double clicking an item
in the vehicle list has the same effect.

Vehicle graphing buttons are as follows:

Power: Provides a power curve for all currently selected vehicles. If
only one vehicle is selected then complete stats for the
vehicle are listed in the info box.

Speed/time: The major graph. This simulates an acceleration run
lasting for 60 seconds for all selected vehicles. Stats such
as 0-100 (or 0-60), quarter mile results and top speed are
	shown in the info box.

Force/speed: this plots the force at the driving wheel v speed in each
gear as well as the drag and the maximum acceleration
available. Note that only one vehicle can be plotted at a
time. The complete stats are listed in the info box.
