Outelineit helps you write outlines. The outline appears in the
large listbox at the bottom of the screen. To add items to
your outline, type in the item at the top, and press Add or
the Enter key. Other Editing functions are described below.

When you close this application and re-open it later, the same
outline will be loaded.

Main menu:
File/Title: Set the title for your outline. This may be
                       changed at any time

File/Out Text: Save your outline as a text file.
       File/Print: Print your outline
       File/Clear: Erase the current outline

Options/Labels Wanted: Add labels to your outline in the
                              format
                                      I. Main Item
                                              A. sub item
                                                   1. sub sub item
                                                         a. sub sub sub item

When on, the labels will be automatically
inserted and updated. You may switch
between labels wanted and not labels
                             wanted at any time.

Note, if you have Labels Wanted to off,
and then you manually type in your own
labels: then, the labels will not be properly
inserted after switching to labels wanted. In
other words, if you want automatic labels, do
not add the labels by typing them in yourself.

Options/Indent: Set the number of spaces to indent
each level of the outline. You may reset
this at any time. A value of six is
recommended. If a line is too wide to print
or for the text file, the line will be adjusted
to the left in the printed or text output.

Blank: Clears the edit box.

Red Arrow Buttons: Click on an item in your outline. You may
promote or demote the level (indent and
labels) of the item by clicking on the
left arrow - to promote - or the right arrow
                              - demote. You may do this at any time.

Auto-Insert If this box is checked, then when you add
or insert an item (or insert after) it will
take on the level of the item immediately
above it. This has no effect when you "move" an item.

Editing Buttons

Add: To add an item to the end of the outline, type in the
item at the top and click Add, or press Enter.

Insert: To insert an item in the outline, type in an item
at the top, then click on the item in the outline
to insert before, then click on Insert.

After: This is the same as insert, except that you are
clicking on the item to insert AFTER.

Edit: To edit an existing item in the outline, click on the
item. Then click on Edit. Edit the item at the top
edit box. When done, either click on "End Edit" or
press the Enter key. It is not recommended that
you edit an item to nothing; if you have labels
wanted Option checked, this blank item will still
                    have a label.

Delete: To delete an item from the outline, highlight the
item and click on the "Delete" button.

Move: To move an item from one place to another,
                                  1. click on the item to move
                                  2. click on the "Move" button
                                  3. click on place in outline to move
                                      your item before.

To cancel a move after clicking on "Move", click on
                "Cancel Move."

Move to End: Click on an item in the outline to be moved
to the end of the outline. Click the "Move
to End" button. The item will be moved to
                            the end of the list.
