directory along with the other WinRamp Lite program and data files.
The utility can be run from the DOS prompt by typing CONVERT or by
clicking on the Convert icon that is automatically setup during the
     installation of WinRamp Lite.

2. Configuring the Conversion Parameters
------------------------------------------

To successfully convert a directory to the WinRamp Lite dialing
directory all four configuration windows must contain valid
     parameters:

2.1. Press Alt-M or Tab to move to the Source Format configuration
window. The currently active configuration window will be marked
by a bright white border. Select a support source dialing directory
format from the pick-list (press Down Arrow to access the
     picklist).

2.2. Press Alt-D or Tab to move to the WinRamp Directory configuration
window. Type in the destination or target WinRamp Lite directory
containing the WinRamp Lite program and data files, or use the
pick-list navigation aid to navigate to the WinRamp Directory by
     pressing the Down Arrow.

2.3. Press Alt-S or Tab to move to the Source File & Path configuration
window. Type in the source directory file name and DOS path to the
source file, or use the pick-list navigation aid to navigate to

2.4. Press Alt-M or Tab to move to the Dialing Directory Name
configuration window. A default WinRamp Dialiong Directory name
and file name will already exist based on the Source file format
you have chosen. At this point you may edit both the Directory Name
     and file name.

3. Selecting Specific Entries to be Converted
-----------------------------------------------

It is possible to select specific entries from the source directory
     file.

3.1. Press F2 to open the Browse Mode window. This window will only open
if all the configuration parameters are valid. If a parameter is
invalid, an error message providing the details will be displayed
on the bottom line of the screen.

3.2. Use the PgDn, PgUp, Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to browse the list
of entries from the source format. Tag or mark the specific entries
you want included in the target WinRamp dialing directory by
pressing the Spacebar on highlighted entries. Tagged or marked
entries can be untagged or unmarked by pressing the Spacebar a
     second time.

3.3. Pressing F4 will tag ALL entries in the source directory file, and
pressing F5 will clear all tagged entries.

4. Converting Source File Entries
-----------------------------------

4.1. Press F3 to convert ALL entries in the source directory file
     regardless of any tagged entries.

     file.

5. Preparing an ASCII Comma Delimited Source File
--------------------------------------------------

A standard ASCII text file can be used as the source file when
prepared using the following format options:

    <BBSName>,<Device>,<Protocol>,<Terminal>,<#1>,<#2>,,,<#n>

Field 1 BBS name
Field 2 Device Name - must already exist in WinRamp Lite, otherwise
the DEFAULT Device will be used. Make sure of the EXACT
spelling or leave BLANK for Default.
Field 3 Protocol Name. Same conditions as for Device Name.
Field 4 Terminal Name. Same conditions as for Device Name.
Field 5-n BBS telephone numbers. Enter as many numbers as you require.

Examples:

WinRamp Support BBS,,,,508-373-2402 (Default Device, Protocol & Terminal)
ABC BBS,USRobotics,Zmodem,ANSI,123-9876,123-9877,123-9878 (3 #'s)
XYZ BBS,Generic 2400,,RIP,987-12345 (Default Protocol & 1 #)

6. The Resulting WinRamp Dialing Directory
--------------------------------------------

6.1. The information that is converted from the source directory is the
name of the BBS/online system and the telephone number associated
with it. If specified correctly (see above) , the Device, Protocol
and Terminal names and multiple numbers can be converted from the
     ASCII comma delimited format.

6.2. The COM Port, terminal emulation, protocol and baud rate related to
the entry are all set to the WinRamp Lite default. If you would
like to change these settings, open the dialing directory in
WinRamp Lite. The converted directory will appear in the dialing
directory window provided it's path is the WinRamp installation
directory. You can now edit any of the entries by selecting Edit
from the Dialing Directory menu or clicking the Edit Entry button.

6.3. A full explanation of the Dialing Directory Settings can be found
in the User Guide (winramp.wri Section 3.4) and in the
Configuration Section of the Help File.
