COMTEST lets you analyse your serial communication
port setup without affecting the operation of the
port.

Run the program with the hex base address of the
port to be looked at as the command line eg.

On most machines:

              COM1 use: COMTEST.EXE 03F8
              COM2 use: COMTEST.EXE 02F8
              COM3 use: COMTEST.EXE 03E8
              COM4 use: COMTEST.EXE 02E8

              The zero is essential!

Use MSD.EXE to determine these values and the port
numbers you have installed. MSD will also tell you
the UART chip type you have. MSD is a standard part
of MS DOS and can be found in your DOS directory.
