Introduction
------------

Lou's Talking Clock II is a clock program that runs under Windows 3.1 that
announces the time for you! You must have a sound card installed in your
computer to hear the time. The program is distributed with sound files
recorded in my voice... but it is customizable so that you can make the
program tell the time in YOUR voice!

The program also allows you to set various types of alarms; absolute, hourly,
daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. You can make Lou's Talking Clock II do
various things when the alarm goes off: announce the time, play a WAV file,
display a message, and run another Windows program!

Installation
------------

Lou's Talking Clock II runs under Windows. To install the program:

        1. Make sure that Windows is running.

        2. The program should have come to you in a single ZIPped file.
           Unzip this file.

        3. Go to the Program Manager window. Choose File, then choose Run.

        4. Enter the directory where you placed the unzipped files and
type install.exe. For example, if you unzipped the files in
the directory c:\test, you would type:

                c:\test\install.exe

        5. The installation program is now running. First, you'll be prompted
to enter the destination directory. The default is c:\louclk
which you can change if you want.

        6. Next, you'll be prompted for the location of the source directory.
Enter the directory where you placed the unzipped files. The
default is a period (.); you can leave this as is.

        7. The installation program now creates Lou's Talking Clock II in
the directory you chose in step 5, and a program group is
           created for you.

That's it! To run the program, click on the Lou's Talking Clock II icon.

The program comes with online help to assist you in running the program and
setting up your alarms. Click the right mouse button on the program window
and select Help from the choices.
