Installation:

After you have downloaded and unzipped all four files of the EDWin demo, please make four diskettes, one for each set of files you have unzipped.

In Windows 3.1/3.11 Program Manager, choose file menu/run and enter a:setup (or b: setup, etc; depending on drive used for your diskettes).

If you are using Windows95, choose RUN from the START menu, and proceed as above.

We suggest you use the default installation parameters.

EDWin:

EDWin Main Menu is the shell program for EDWin. This is where you will open the database, get information, find help, etc., and also select the module
you want to work with.

EDWins database is fully integrated. Thus you dont have to bother about
front- and backannotation. To use the concept of integration, you should work with components created as devices, not as symbols.

When, in Schematics, you do packaging, EDWin will automatically select the
layout components which contain the functions you have selected. If you
start with layout, schematic symbols contained by the component will be
automatically created. You can use the autoplace and autoroute functions to
have EDWin do the work for you, or you can do the work manually.

To place a component a page (schematic) or board (layout) must first be
defined. In schematic, a default page is set up when you start. In layout,
a default board is set up. You may Edit Page or Board Size to fit your need..

Learning about EDWin:
EDWin includes two set of helpfiles: One Tutorial helpfile and one Main
Helpfile.

We suggest that you start by browsing through the Main Helpfile to get used
to the icons and tools used and the modules included in EDWin.

There are a few jobfiles provided, several edited for running simulation, please see
the helpfiles - Tutorial Help.

to improve the instructions, please let us know!
