What is TS-24?
--------------------
TS-24 is an astronomy education program that is used by students in
the classroom to learn how astronomers use a telescope and
instruments to study the universe.

This demo version includes two simulated evenings at an observatory
located in Auckland, New Zealand. The first evening is used to
study an eclipsing binary stellar system. The second evening is used
to demonstrate how an astronomer can determine the temperature of a
star by counting photons.

INSTALLATION
------------
The TS-24 demo requires about 600K of disk space

1. Download TS24DV32.ZIP into a temporary work directory on your hard drive.
2. Use PKZIP to unzip the TS24DV32.ZIP file into the same directory.
3. From the Windows Program Manager, select File.
4. Select RUN.
5. Enter> {path}\setup.exe
(where path is the directory path to the temporary work directory)
6. Delete all files in the temporary directory (you may want to keep the
zip file until you are sure the installation was successful.

RESTRICTIONS
------------
1. The program AJAX is not included in the demo. AJAX is used to
build and configure observatories, telescopes and instruments.

2. The program GENESIS is not included in the demo. GENESIS is used
to add interesting objects to the background sky including
variable stars, asteroids and binary stellar systems.

3. The program EPHEMERIS is not included in the demo. EPHEMERIS is
used to calculate the position and other physical data for objects
added to the background sky using GENESIS.

4. The demo version permits no changes to any of the configuration
files. Doing so will direct the simulator to not load the file.
An error message is displayed identifying the invalid file. If
you receive this error it may be due to a corrupted or missing
   file. The files checked are:

	TS24.OBS	list of observatories
	TS24.TEL	list of telescopes
	TS24.DT7	database of object positions
TS24.OBJ	objects added to the sky

5. The demo version will not simulate any other dates than March 15,
1995. You can set the time to anytime that day.
