Most errors that are reported can be explained in the ERRORS.DOC file,
especially if the error was reported by KINTECUS.

Q.1) I get an error of, "Can't run in MS-DOS..." when trying to run
KINTECUS.EXE.

A.1) Make sure the file DOSXMSF.EXE is in the same directory as
KINTECUS.EXE. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE SAME EXACT COPY OF DOSXMSF.EXE
THAT CAME WITH THE PROGRAM!!! If you have a version of DOSXMSF.EXE that
came with another different program, do NOT use that with KINTECUS.EXE.
You SHOULD place the DOSXMSF.EXE that came with each respective program
in its respective directory.

Q.2) I have 8 megabytes of RAM on my zombie machine (a PC clone)
and Kintecus runs slow, how come ?

A.2) Remember Kintecus requires about 7 megs of RAM, if you don't have
this amount *FREE*, Kintecus will try to run with virtual RAM stored
on hard disk even under a pure MS-DOS session (ie. the MS-DOS session was
not launched from within Windows). One way to make Kintecus run in RAM is
to set the MS-DOS enviroment switch DOSVX to -NOVM (ie. enter the line
SET DOSVX=-NOVM in the autoexec.bat file and reboot). Most likely what will
happen is that now Kintecus will not run because there is not enough
memory. To free more than a megabyte of memory, change your disk-caching
command "C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE 2048 128" in autoexec.bat to
"C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE 512 128". This reduction of diskcache memory
will somewhat slow down your CD-ROM and hard-disk access, but Kintecus
should run and you can always change it back after your simulations are done.

Q.3) When will KINTECUS.EXE have a graphical interface?

A.3) A graphical interface is in the works. It will only run under Windows
(Booooooo!), but it will automatically run Kintecus on any computer you
are attached to and have a current version of Kintecus on it.
This is accomplished by communicating with it through a network connection.

Q.4) When will there be a Mac version ?

A.4) When there is enough demand of Kintecus on that platform.
To date, I have only received only a handful (6) people who are just
"interested" in the program (whichs translates into I MIGHT purchase
a version of Kintecus). This does not warrant me to go out and pay $500
for a Fortran compiler on the Mac.

Q.5) How come Kintecus does not read in the switches I give to it on the
command line on a UNIX computer (SUN, AIX/6000, SGI, Cray) ?

A.5) To tell Kintecus you wish to enter some switches, you *MUST* create
a one line file named, "COMMAND.DAT". The very first line contains the
switches you wish to give it.
