StarPlay(tm) is a utility program made to play and print music
created with the Star Music Editor(tm). Star(tm) release 3.3 is
available for $45.00 from:

          Arthur Epling Enterprises
          P.O. Box 593
          McKinney, TX., 75070

StarPlay(tm) is made to operate with IBM and compatible computers.
StarPlay(tm) requires an 80286 or later Intel type CPU, VGA graphic
capability, a pc speaker, Sound Blaster(tm) or MIDI device. Music
may be printed to an Epson type printer addressed via port LPT1
using the print feature.

StarPlay(tm) is Windows(tm) accessible and will work in OS/2(tm) in
a full screen DOS window. When using DOS, release 3.3 or later is
recommended.

StarPlay requires 600 K of RAM. The number of terminate and stay
resident programs you have loaded on your system directly affects
the functionality of the music player. If you have trouble running
the StarPlay utility. Try creating a bootable floppy diskette and
copy the play utility and associated files to that diskette. With
a basic bootable floppy, that is without any TSR's or programs
which create added demand on your system, try the program again.
Remember, you will have to reboot to try the new diskette.

StarPlay(tm) can be called in one of two modes. In the standard
call StarPlay(tm) is started by typing "Starplay" and pressing
enter. In this mode StarPlay(tm) will update the screen display,
showing the correct musical lines as songs are played. Graphical
update requirements can slow some machines down to the point where
the music is no longer smooth. The timing of the music suffers in
some cases. To eliminate screen update and allow the music to play
uninterrupted a command line argument is allowed in calling
StarPlay(tm). To avoid graphical screen update call StarPlay(tm)
with a colon entered after the word "Starplay". The procedure
would be to type "Starplay :" and press enter. By entering a colon
after the command "Starplay" the playback utility avoids updating
the screen when playing music.

Selection of different directories can be made by moving to the top
of the available screen of files shown in the "OPEN" window and
pressing the tab key. This will move the arrow to the directory
portion of the "OPEN" window. From this position a new directory
can be entered in the box and selected by pressing the enter key.
Pressing the tab key returns to the file selection portion of the
menu.

Pages are changed by pressing the page up or page down keys.
