W-2 Preparer prepares and prints W-2 forms. W-2 Preparer ac-
comodates one wide Forms W-2 and two wide Forms W-2. You must
specify which style you wish to use. The default is two wide.

W-2 Preparer writes the data you enter to a file for later use.
You must specify the name of that storage file. Should you accept
the default, it will write to the line printer.

PREPARE ONE WIDE FORMS W-2 [N]

                      W-2 FILENAME [LPT1 ]

The first screen displays Creative One, Inc. copyright banner and
operating instructions. W-2 Preparer(C) requires answers to two
          questions.

W-2 Preparer(C) needs to know whether you are running one-wide
Forms W-2. If so, type in Y and hit Enter. If you are running
two-wide Forms W-2 with mailer hit Enter. W-2 Preparer expects
you to run two-wide Forms W-2 with mailer, so this has been set
as the default. Only if you are doing otherwise must you make a
selection. If you want to terminate W-2 Preparer(C) at this time
type X and hit Enter. Control will return to DOS.

                                                                              3

W-2 Preparer(C) also needs to know whether you want to print the
forms immediately. W-2 Preparer(C) expects that this is what you
want to do. The filename LPT1 has been set as the default. If
you want to dump to your lineprinter hit Enter. You are also
given the option of creating a diskfile for subsequent editing or
printing. Should you select this option, overtype the LPT1 entry
in the filename field and replace it with any filename you
          select.

The data entry form displays. The data entry form is a Form W-2.
Fill in the appropriate blanks. The data entry form is divided
into EMPLOYER and EMPLOYEE sections. W-2 Preparer(C) assumes
that you will be preparing one EMPLOYER'S Forms W-2 at a time.
Therefore you will not be able to go back to the EMPLOYER'S
          section from the EMPLOYEE section.

EMPLOYER'S section contains data which is specific to the
EMPLOYER. Data are Employer Name, three Employer Address lines,
Employer Identification number, and State Identification number.
Move from field to field by hitting Enter. The cursor will move
to the next field. The cursor stays in EMPLOYER'S section.
Notice, however, that when the cursor is in the State Ident-
ification number field, 2ACCEPT appears at the bottom of the
screen. If you are ready to enter EMPLOYEE data, hit the F2 key.

EMPLOYEE section contains data specific to each EMPLOYEE. Data
are Allcated Tips, Advance EIC Payments, Employee Social Security
number, Federal Tax Withheld, Wages Tips and Other Income, Social
Security Withheld, Employee Name, three Employee Address lines,
Social Security Wages, Social Security Tips, blocks 16 and 16a,

State Tax Withheld, State Income, State abbreviation, Local Tax
          Withheld, Local Income, and Location.

Move the cursor from field to field by hitting Enter. To go back
to the last field, depress the shift key and hit backtab. When
you have entered all data pertaining to that employee, and they
are correct, and when 2ACCEPT is displayed hit the F2 key.
          Answer the additional question.

Notice that EMPLOYER'S section data have remained; EMPLOYEE
section data have been blanked, and the cursor returns to the
Allocated Tips field for the next employee. If you are dumping
to the line printer, the first W-2 will print now.

          After every 41 employees W-2 Preparer(C) inserts a subtotal.

To EXIT W-2 Preparer(C) hit ESC from any field in the Form W-2.

The closing routine displays the six Form W-3 transmittal totals
which Internal Revenue Service requires. Write these totals
down, as they disappear when you hit any key to exit.
