 ICD - Intelligent Change Directory

For faster and easier directory change

 HOW TO START

Copy ICD in a directory contained in your PATH statement.
 (Usually c:\dos or c:\windows)
Type icd /r to read the directory tree.
(You have to do this everytime you create or delete a directory)

 DESCRIPTION

ICD uses a hidden file (ICDINFO.DAT), located in the root directory, for
faster directory change. You can change from the root to any part of the
 directory tree.

 e.g.:

		c:\>icd docs
		c:\windows\winapps\noword\docs

The program tries to find even directories, which have not been typed
correctly, or prints at least an error.
(Similar products reread the tree after every incorrect input and
have no possibility to locate a wrong typed directory)

If you have more than one directories with the same name, you have to
change to that directory by typing "icd directory [+ENTER]" more times.

 e.g.: Following directories exist:

		1. c:\bc4\examples
                2. c:\tp\examples

When writing "icd examples" once, you change to the first directory.
After that write "icd examples" again to change to the second.

If you use "\" in an argument, icd reacts exactly as the normal cd.

You can change more than one directories back by writing more than two dots
 (like the cd of Windows95)

 e.g.:

	c:\tp\usprog\exeprog>icd ...
	c:\tp>

usage: ICD directory - changes to this directory
         ICD /r - (re)reads the directory tree

         ICD /? /h /H - prints usage
         ICD (no arguments) - -"-
ICD . - prints the current directory

You have to reread the directory tree every time you create, rename or delete
a directory and of course the first time you use icd on your disk

This program is freeware. You can give it to friends as long as you do not
modify it. You also have to keep it together with this text.
No warranty. You are using this software at your own risk.

If you like icd so much you want to give me something, you can send me
english Star Trek - VHS - tapes (TOS, Next Generation, Voyager).

If you put icd on a CD-ROM Shareware - Collection, sending me a copy of
 the CD-ROM would be nice.
(And why not create an icdinfo.dat on your CD?)

Do you have any ideas to improve icd ? Feel free to mail them to me.
