XSOFT'S TABWORKS TO BE PRE-INSTALLED ON NEC TECHNOLOGIES' NEW POWERMATE
LINE

Personal document manager from Xerox division provides desktop efficiency
for PowerMate users

PALO ALTO, Calif., August 28, 1995 -- The XSoft division of Xerox
Corporation today announced an agreement with NEC Technologies, Inc. under
which NEC will pre-install TabWorks, XSoft's personal document manager for
desktop efficiency, on its new family of PowerMate computer systems.
Designed for general office and corporate use, the NEC PowerMate V series
and PowerMate P series will come bundled with TabWorks to enable PowerMate
users to quickly find, launch and file documents and applications.

NEC Technologies is the second major PC manufacturer to pre-install the
TabWorks application. Compaq Computers Corporation also pre-installs
TabWorks on its personal computers through an ongoing bundling arrangement
that began in October 1993. In addition, XSoft sells TabWorks through
major computer retail outlets, including CompUSA, MicroCenter and Computer
City, as well as through the Tiger Direct and MicroWarehouse catalogs.

"We were in search of the best-of-breed productivity software to enhance
our new line of PC systems and found that TabWorks would best meet the
needs of our corporate computing customers," said Mary Chin, vice
president, NEC Technologies Commercial Systems. "TabWorks offers users at
all levels the flexibility to organize documents and applications to meet
their individual preferences. It plays an important role in NEC's
objective to deliver the highest degree of performance and value while
enhancing functionality or ease-of-use."

Patricia Giberson, vice president and general manager of XSoft's Personal
Document Management line of business, said, "NEC Technologies is
recognized by the industry as a major provider of leading-edge corporate
computing systems. By including TabWorks on its powerful new product line,
NEC gives its users the opportunity to devote more time to their work and
less time to finding, launching and filing documents."

In a separate announcement today, XSoft introduced TabWorks 2.0 with
support for Windows 95 and Windows 3.1. NEC plans to pre-install TabWorks
2.0 on its entire line of new PowerMate V and P series, which will ship
with Windows for Workgroups and Windows 95. TabWorks

TabWorks makes it easier for users to work with their Windows PCs by
providing a simple and intuitive way to organize their work and locate
documents. The program is designed to look and function like a three-ring
binder, using familiar components like tabs, pages, and a dynamic Table of
Contents to manage icons that represent files and documents.

TabWorks lets the organizational habits and needs of the individual user
supersede the structure of the computer. Using its intuitive notebook
metaphor, TabWorks allows users to organize their work in any way that
makes sense to them -- by project, function, or even client. Documents and
applications are easily and quickly accessible on the pages of the user's
personalized notebook, and TabWorks can launch them automatically. By
giving the user direct document access, TabWorks eliminates the need for
the user to know where a document exists in the directory structure or
even what application is used to run it.

In addition to its availability through retail outlets and catalogs,
TabWorks can be purchased directly from XSoft for $49 by calling
800-909-4446 or 510-412-1426.
