SOFTWARE PUBLISHING CORPORATION ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF HARVARD
CHARTXL 2.0 FOR WINDOWS 95

The Best Graphing Program For Windows

SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 5, 1995 -- Software Publishing Corporation
today announced the availability of Harvard ChartXL 2.0 for Windows, a
powerful graphing application that enables spreadsheet users to analyze
and communicate their data more effectively. From high-impact business
charts to the most complex 3-D technical graphs, Harvard ChartXL delivers
the right graph for the job with an estimated street price of $149.
Harvard ChartXL 2.0, designed as a 32-bit application to run under Windows
95, Windows NT and Windows 3.1, works with the leading spreadsheets and
suite applications and is Microsoft Office 95 compatible.

"Harvard ChartXL for Windows 95 combines the ease-of-use and graphing power
that any spreadsheet user should love. I can create professional looking
charts without the hassle and infinite chart customizations with just a
few clicks," said D. MacCallum of PacifiCare.

This latest release is for professionals who are looking for a tool to
visually analyze, manipulate and present critical data in new and more
effective ways. With more than 300 two- and three-dimensional chart types,
Harvard ChartXL 2.0 for Windows provides business, financial, statistical
and technical professionals greater flexibility with more graphing options
than Microsoft Excel and Lotus 1-2-3.

"It's very easy to use, very intuitive. It's an easy transition for people
used to using spreadsheets," said C. Adamek of Duff Consulting Engineers.

Harvard ChartXL 2.0 has been certified by Microsoft to be a Microsoft
Office 95 application. Users will find the same commands and buttons found
in other certified Office 95 applications, ensuring greater comfort and
usability.

Harvard ChartXL 2.0 offers three different ways to create meaningful graphs
quickly and easily. Users can either create them from scratch, choose from
a graphical gallery of over 300 Business, Statistical and Technical
charts, or select AutoFormatting, which provides several selections to
choose from, then automatically reformats the user's graph to match the
style.

"For me, the great advantage of Harvard ChartXL lies in its versatility. I
really have one program for all my charting needs," said M. Jergas of San
Francisco, CA.

Users who wish to see the graphing power of Harvard ChartXL 2.0 can now
