OLICOM BECOMES FIRST MAJOR NETWORK ADAPTER VENDOR TO INTRODUCE ATM PCI 155
ADAPTER

August 29, 1995, Copenhagen, Denmark -- Olicom (NASDAQ:NMS, OLCMF), a
leading provider of high-performance networking solutions, today announced
its first PCI adapter for 155 Mbps ATM. The adapter, which is designed to
provide connectivity for ATM workstations and servers, offers high
performance, is easy to configure, and provides a high degree of
interoperability with products from other leading ATM vendors.

The ATM PCI adapter allows users to build ATM-connected, high-end PCI based
workstations or servers based on industry-standard PC architecture a
significant advantage over ATM adapters which are designed for proprietary
RISC-type workstations.

The adapter can be used to provide ATM desktop connectivity for existing,
off-the-shelf applications requiring high bandwidth, such as multimedia or
imaging applications, or for servers on an ATM backbone supporting
standard network operating systems. It can also serve as the platform to
link classic LANs with an ATM backbone.

According to Kurt Nybroe-Nielsen, Deputy Managing Director at Olicom, "The
fact that Olicom is the first major adapter vendor to introduce a PCI
adapter for 155 Mbps ATM demonstrates our commitment to becoming the
world's leading ATM desktop connectivity provider. We intend to continue
offering high-quality, high-interoperability ATM products in order to
remain at the forefront of the ATM desktop connectivity market."

He added, "Our recent agreement with Microsoft, in which they will license
Olicom's ATM Signaling and LAN Emulation software, and our ongoing
alliance with Fujitsu for ATM chipset development, shows that Olicom
possesses the technical expertise necessary to be an ATM industry
leader."

Cost-efficient solutions using industry-standard PCs and software The ATM
PCI 155 adapter comes in two versions standard SONET/SDH multimode fiber
connectors or RJ45 UTP connectors. The adapter includes drivers for all of
the leading network operating systems, including Microsoft Windows for
Workgroups, Windows NT, Windows 95, Novell NetWare, and Novell UnixWare.
In addition, Olicom's ATM Signaling and LAN Emulation software is included
with the ATM PCI 155 adapters. This software was recently licensed by
Microsoft for integration into the Windows family of operating systems.
Windows users, therefore, can be assured that the new ATM PCI adapter
provides excellent compatibility with their operating system.

ATM Interoperability

A critical factor in the successful implementation of ATM networks is
interoperability between multiple vendors' ATM product offerings. To
ensure complete interoperability with other vendors' products, Olicom not
only adheres to ATM Forum specifications, but also regularly participates
in testing at University of New Hampshire's (UNH) InterOperability
Laboratory. The ATM Consortium at the UNH InterOperability Lab is becoming
an industry-wide focal point where leading ATM vendors participate in
interoperability testing. In addition to UNH testing, Olicom works closely
with several other ATM vendors to ensure the interoperability of Olicom
ATM products.

High-speed networking solutions

The high-speed networking solutions provided by Olicom's ATM products
enable the efficient integration of ATM technology with existing
Token-Ring and Ethernet networks. Olicom's ATM EISA 155 Mbps adapter with
standard fiber connectors, released last year, was the first standard
PC-architectured ATM adapter available on the market. The ATM EISA 155
adapter and the new ATM PCI 155 adapter are part of a growing family of
Olicom ATM adapters for industry standard PCs and servers.

Olicom has established a strategic alliance with Fujitsu Microelectronics,
wherein Fujitsu will develop the ATM chipsets for Olicom ATM adapters and
Olicom will develop the adapter drivers and assist with chipset
development.

Pricing and Availability

The Olicom ATM PCI adapter (OC-6151 and OC-6152) will be available in
production quantities in October 1995; the price will be US $995 for the
multimode fiber version, and US $895 for the UTP version. Olicom will
demonstrate the new ATM PCI Adapter at the NetWorld + Interop show in
Paris, France, September 13-15 1995 (Booth C32).
