DIAMOND MULTIMEDIA AND INTERPLAY INK DEAL TO BUNDLE DESCENT: DESTINATION
SATURN WITH DIAMOND EDGE 3D MULTIMEDIA ACCELERATOR

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Sept. 18, 1995 -- Diamond Multimedia has inked an
agreement with leading interactive entertainment software company
Interplay to bundle an enhanced Windows version of Descent: Destination
Saturn, a high-speed arcade-style action game, with the Diamond Edge 3D
multimedia accelerator for personal computers. Purchasers of the Diamond
Edge 3D accelerator will receive a coupon in the box for a free copy of
the game during September; starting in October, Descent: Destination
Saturn will be bundled in the Edge 3D box.

Descent: Destination Saturn features 15 levels from Interplay's best-
selling Descent, plus an additional level, launching gamers into a
dizzying 360 degree 3D world where they fly their nimble Pyro-GX craft
into mine shafts throughout the solar system, destroying reactors and
rescuing hostages from killer robots controlled by artificial intelligence
technology. Descent: Destination Saturn allows for multiplayer action with
up to eight people over a local area network, as well as two-person modem
to modem play.

"Anyone familiar with Descent will be blown away by the fast gameplay and
high-resolution, high-color graphics they'll experience playing Descent:
Destination Saturn under Windows using Diamond's Edge 3D accelerator,"
said Ken Wirt, vice president of marketing, Diamond Multimedia. "Descent:
Destination Saturn will clearly showcase how Diamond's Edge 3D accelerator
brings PC gaming to a new level."

The new Diamond Edge 3D accelerator offers a more immersive PC gaming
experience by providing faster play, real-time, photo-realistic 3D and 2D
graphics, concurrent hardware Wavetable audio, full-motion video
acceleration and a unique texturing feature, an advanced digital gameport
for precise joystick control and two video game compatible connectors.

With Diamond's Edge 3D accelerator, games like Descent: Destination Saturn,
which make heavy use of 3D and other graphically-intense environments, run
smoother at higher resolutions and high color depths under Windows.

Diamond's Edge 3D engine allows developers to create curved surfaces using
quadratic texture maps and provides acceleration for rendering real-time,
texture-mapped 3D images at the highest possible frame rates without
bogging down the CPU. Software developers can also create exciting special
effects including video texture mapping on curved surfaces, diffused
lighting, reflection mapping and alpha blending for fog, smoke and
transparency.

"The innovative features of Diamond's Edge 3D accelerator combined with the
cutting-edge game play of Descent: Destination Saturn should make this
bundle a clear winner for PC game enthusiasts this year," said Jill
Goldworn, vice president of OEM and merchandising at Interplay. "We are
very excited about all of our upcoming products for Diamond's Edge 3D."

The Diamond Edge 3D multimedia accelerator, bundled with Descent:
Destination Saturn, is available in PCI with either DRAM or VRAM memory.
Estimated retail prices start at $249 - $299.
