DIGITAL AND MONDADORI IN JOINT AGREEMENT TO LAUNCH MULTIMEDIA PROGRAMS FOR
PROFESSIONAL PC MARKET

MILAN, Italy -- September 29, 1995 --- Within the framework of a broader
agreement covering the development of multimedia solutions for the
business market, Digital Equipment Corporation International (Europe) and
Arnoldo Mondadori Editore have demonstrated a prototype of their first
multimedia software application called ANTISTRESS at the SMAU Computer
Fair in Milan, Italy.

The CD ROM program, expected to be introduced in October, has been
developed to analyse and reduce individual stress and can be used in a
PC-based professional working environment.

The ANTISTRESS CD ROM is the fruition of joint research carried out by the
two companies and aims to be an educational, useful and entertaining
response to user needs, particularly in business and professional
environments.

The multimedia application provides an instructive and effective
exploration of stress-related issues, through a series of targeted
graphics, digital sound and film clips, and illustrates the more enjoyable
ways of avoiding them. Various techniques are addressed gradually, as the
program allows step-by-step access to topics of personal interest for
users, while suggesting remedies for a variety of situations. ANTISTRESS
also has a glossary and a learning guide.

"This CD-based application initially will be bundled with Digital Celebris
GL products, and subsequently with all Digital PCs featuring a CD-ROM
configuration," says Carlo Gilardi, Vice President, Marketing, for
Digital's Personal Computer Business Unit in Europe. "We also plan to
pre-install a special version on the hard disk unit of all Digital PCs
without CD-ROM. The application will be a progressive step forward for
users, providing them with better work tools through Digital PC
products."

"This new software is innovative in many ways, quite beyond its product
quality, in that the program was developed with the contribution of
worldwide experts in psychology, medicine and software design," says Kurt
Hilgenberg, responsible for the project at Mondadori.

Digital Equipment Corporation is the world's leader in open client/server
solutions from personal computing to integrated worldwide information
systems. Digital's scalable Alpha platforms, storage, networking, software
and services, together with industry-focused solutions from business
partners, help organizations compete and win in today's global
marketplace.
