*** NEW PROGRAMS FROM COSMIC ***

COSMIC announces the availability of the following new or updated programs.
The complete abstract of each program is available on World Wide Web,
Gopher, by e-mail, or by FAX. See the end of this message for details.
These abstracts describe the programs in more detail as well as listing
the machine requirements, program size, distribution media, and price.

The complete description of any program may be obtained by purchasing the
documentation separately. User instructions, the mathematical basis for
problem solution, and sample input and output are usually included.

Programs are sold with source code to permit customization.

SAGE - Multi-dimensional self-adaptive grid code, version 2

SAGE provides an efficient method to improve the accuracy of CFD flow
solutions while simultaneously reducing computer processing time. SAGE
enhances an initial computational grid by redistributing the mesh points
into more appropriate locations. The movement of these points is driven by
an equal-error- distribution algorithm that utilizes the relationship
between high flow gradient and excessive solution errors. SAGE handles
structured grids that are 2-D or 3-D, finite difference or finite volume,
single or multiple. Written in FORTRAN 77 to be machine independent.

PROGRAM NUMBER: ARC-13359
DOCUMENTATION: $20.00 PROGRAM: $1500.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
MOLFLUX - Molecular flux program

MOLFLUX is a versatile program that can be used to predict the following
spacecraft conditions: 1) molecular flux to surfaces and surface
molecular deposition, 2) molecular density and molecular column densities
in surrounding space, and 3) molecular return flux to surfaces caused by
molecular collisions both with the ambient atmosphere and from
self-scattering. The user has the option to modify spacecraft
configurations and sources of contamination and to choose which critical
surfaces to examine. Written in FORTRAN and C-language for Cray, HP9000,
and VAX series computers.

Program Numbers: MSC-22260, MSC-22565, MSC-22566
Documentation: $47.00 Program: $2500.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
COSTMODELER - A generalized framework for development and application of
software development cost estimation models

COSTMODELER provides a framework for estimating software development and
maintenance costs. Several estimation models are provided and new models
may be created. Many characteristics of the project can be customized,
including program size, "cost drivers", sub-components, life-cycle, and
development team. A variety of output reports are provided. Written for
IBM PC compatibles and requires Borland Pascal with Objects 7.0.

PROGRAM NUMBER: MSC-22543
DOCUMENTATION: $37.00 PROGRAM: $600.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
NASA/FLAGRO 2.0 - Fatigue crack growth computer program, version 2.0

NASA/FLAGRO was developed as an aid in predicting the growth of
pre-existing flaws and cracks in structural components of space systems.
It provides the fracture mechanics analyst with a computerized method of
evaluating the "safe crack growth life" capabilities of structural
components. NASA/FLAGRO can be used to evaluate the damage tolerance
aspects of a given structural design. Written in FORTRAN 77 and
C-language for IBM PC series and compatibles, Macintosh II computers, HP
9000/700's running HP-UX, DEC 4000 series computers running OSF/1, Sun4's
running SunOS, and DEC VAX running VMS.

PROGRAM NUMBER: MSC-22550, COS-10073, COS-10074, COS-10075, COS- 10076,
COS-10077, COS-10078

DOCUMENTATION: $142.00 PROGRAM: $2000.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
SOFTREL - A general software reliability process simulation technique,
version 3.0

SOFTREL is a prototype software package that simulates creation, detection,
and repair of defects and faults during a software development project.
SOFTREL considers construction, integration, inspection, and correction of
the software and the documentation; preparation and performance of test of
the software; identification, repair, and validation of repairs; and
retesting. Written in C-language for IBM PC series and compatibles.

PROGRAM NUMBER: NPO-18295
DOCUMENTATION: $20.00 PROGRAM: $100.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
VAXFC - VAX floating point to host floating point conversion software

Many users need to transport unformatted floating point (4 bytes per
sample) data files written by a VAX to a machine running UNIX. This
computer may have a different convention for interpreting unformatted
floating point data values. VAXFC converts these non-ASCII files to the
unformatted floating point representation of the UNIX machine. Written in
C-language for use on UNIX systems.

PROGRAM NUMBER: NPO-19464
DOCUMENTATION: $12.00 PROGRAM: $200.00

COSMIC INFORMATION SERVICES

NASA's COmputer Software Management and Information Center (COSMIC) has
been located at the University of Georgia since its beginning in 1966. We
presently have over 850 computer programs that were originally developed
by NASA and its contractors for the U.S. space program. Software is
available for a number of areas of interest including: artificial
intelligence, computational fluid dynamics, finite element structural
analysis, scientific visualization, thermal and fluid flow analysis, and
many more. Programs are priced on a cost-recovery basis and usually
include source code.
