FIND YOUR FAVORITE CD-ROM TITLE VIA COMPUSERVE

CompuServe offers world's first comprehensive online database of CD titles

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 13, 1995 -- Get the scoop on CD-ROM titles from the
AAA Trip Planner to Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon on the CompuServe
Information Service. Whether members want to find CD games for their
children or business resources, CDROMBase Online meets the need with a
directory of more than 9,300 titles including descriptions and pricing
information. The list includes titles running on Windows, Macintosh, DOS
and 11 other platforms, with prices ranging from $4.95 to more than
$50,000 per year. Nearly 1,800 publishers are represented. The database
can be found by entering GO CDROM and clicking on the Database button.

The Optical Publishing Association (OPA), a non-profit trade and
professional association, estimates 1994 CD sales at about $3 billion,
rising to a projected $4.5 billion in 1995. CD-ROMs are distributed more
widely than any other single medium, being sold in software stores,
bookstores, music and video stores, as well as a variety of general
merchandise stores. Rich Bowers, co-founder and executive director of the
OPA, compiled CDROMBase Online. Bowers has been involved in the industry
since its inception, having created the first directory of CD-ROM products
in 1986, with 42 titles listed.

"CDROMBase Online is one of a kind," Bowers said. "It's the largest and
most complete database of CD-ROM titles available to the general public.
Putting it online with CompuServe makes the database easily accessible
while allowing for frequent updates. Our plan in 1996 is to expand
coverage of CD-ROM products available outside North America."

In addition to CDROMBase Online, CompuServe offers other forums and
services for CD-ROM users. Some CD-ROM publishers are represented in the
CD-ROM Vendors A Forum, and many of them have made available video clips
or interactive demos of their products. CompuServe members share
information and opinions about CD-ROM products in the CD-ROM Forum. News,
reviews, press announcements and extracts from magazines and newsletters
are also available. To explore CompuServe's family of CD-ROM services,
