Pentium-based notebook computer. The model NB5400 is CHEM USA' s
top-of-the-line unit, with the power, features and capability equal to any
notebook computer or desktop PC on the market. The unit features up to
120MHz performance and full multimedia capability.

through distributors and retailers) and 5d-brand (available direct)
high-performance, full-featured notebook computers.

The new ChemBook Model 5400 and 5d Model 4100 CD-ROM Pentium notebook
computer is the ultimate multimedia machine and features built-in
2x-speed- or optional 4x-speed CD-ROM drive, with up to 1 Gigabyte (GB)
removable disk drive storage capacity, up to 32 megabytes (MB) of RAM,
large color screen, touchpad and built-in joystick.

A Microsoft Sound System- and Soundblaster Pro-compatible 16-bit stereo
sound system with built-in microphone and speaker come standard with the
unit, along with 1MB VRAM (up to 2MB optional), with a 32-bit PCI video

graphics on a 11.3-inch dual scan display, or 10.3-inch TFT active matrix
screen.

The ChemBook and 5d notebooks feature a Pentium microprocessor with a

memory, 8-, 16- or -32MB of RAM, and removable 340-, 500-, 810MB, or 1GB
hard drive. The unit includes touchpad cursor control, along with a
built-in joystick. A 1.44MB floppy drive is removable (to exchange an MPEG
Plus video module), and a high-speed serial port for networking and modem
capabilities is standard, plus PC Card slots and power management
capability. The unit is available now starting at $3,450 suggested retail
price, depending on configuration.

The CD-ROM Pentium notebook computer is designed to support the
capabilities of desktop PCs found in small or home offices, or to function
as stand-alone multimedia PCs for the business traveler. plus a mini
docking station adapter allows quick connection to desktop PCs. In
addition, a built-in infrared interface for instant wireless connection to
peripherals.

With one each Type II and Type m PC Card slots, The notebook provides
additional on- or off-line data storage for small office/home office
desktop PCs, or access to the wealth of applications available on PC Cards
such as fax/modem software downloading, communications, and other
memory-intensive applications.

The notebook includes efficient power management features, including a CPU
and Globe standby mode, plus auto-suspend and auto power management
support. In addition, an autoswitching AC adapter, NiMH battery and
two-hour fast charge capabilities help the user to manage power when
traveling.
