Back Again/2 Professional Edition
Version 3.10
Complete Backup and Recovery for OS/2 Warp

September 6, 1995 -- OS/2 Warp users take note! Backup and recovery of your
system just got faster and easier than ever before. Back Again/2
Professional Edition, version 3.10, has arrived and now features support
for the new ATAPI/IDE tape drives!

Back Again/2 is a high performance, feature rich backup solution for IBM
OS/2. A complete backup scheduler is built in, as are multiple levels of
data compression. Network integration and universal naming convention
(UNC) support enable Back Again/2 to protect your network servers against
data loss. While other backup applications limit your backups to the
number of drives that can be concurrently mounted on the system, Back
Again/2 is under no such constraints thanks to full support for the
universal naming convention present in both IBM LAN Server and Novell
Netware. Naturally, Back Again/2 fully supports the high performance file
system (HPFS), extended attributes, long file names, and backing up files
in use by other applications.

Back Again/2 is also the only utility available for OS/2 that exploits the
latest ATAPI/IDE tape drives such as those available from Conner
Peripherals, APS Technologies, and other vendors. At speeds of up to
33MB/min, capacities up to 4MB, and a price tag under $500, these new tape
drives represent a significant step forward in tape storage technology at
an unprecedented price/performance ratio.

While some applications support only tape drives, Back Again/2 delivers
support for many different types of devices including not only SCSI and
ATAPI/IDE tape drives, but Bernoulli Boxes, SyQuest removable hard drives,
magneto optical drives, IBM LAN Server and Novell Netware network drives,
and IBM AS/400 PC Support drives as well. And with the high-speed floppy
diskette support, Back Again/2 is ideal for laptop users.

Another powerful feature of Back Again/2 is the standalone restore utility
which can be used to restore an OS/2 system from a complete backup in as
little as eight minutes, without having to first re-install OS/2. In
addition, the standalone restore utility can also be used to replicate
network clients; an entire system including OS/2, networking software,
applications, and a customized OS/2 desktop can be installed in a matter
of minutes.

Registered users of Back Again/2 v3.xx will be able to obtain an update to
v3.10 from the Computer Data Strategies, Inc. bulletin board effective
Monday, September 11. There is no update charge for registered users to
obtain the update via the BBS; a small shipping and handling charge will
be effected for those customers who wish to have a diskette mailed to
them.
