BERKELEY SYSTEMS SHIPS THE NEW AFTER DARK FOR WINDOWS 95

50% MORE DISPLAYS FOR HALF THE PRICE!

BERKELEY, Calif. (August 29, 1995) -- Berkeley Systems, Inc. announced
today the shipping of After Dark for Windows 95 provides added
functionality by giving users the option to have After Dark reside on the
Windows 95 Taskbar. The QuickAccess button also gives users the option of
displaying a small icon in the 'notification' area of the Taskbar,
allowing for easy access to the After Dark Control Panel. Additionally,
each display has its own custom icon, or thumbnail image in the After Dark
Folder, for easy identification. When users right-click on one of these
new icons and choose 'Open' from the pop-up menu, the After Dark Control
Panel opens immediately, selecting the corresponding display. After Dark
for Windows 95 displays celebrate the unique, zany humor and stylized art
for which Berkeley Systems has become known. Users can watch the
pernicious puppy Bad Dog run amok on the desktop, test their trivia
knowledge with You Bet Your Head, and try their luck at the track with Rat
Race, a rodent rendition of the Triple Crown. There's even Boris the
kitten, Bogglins, and Lunatic Fringe, an arcade style game that also
functions as a screen saver. In addition, After Dark for Windows 95
contains a bonus display from Berkeley's new Totally Twisted After Dark
Screen Saver, Flying Toilets!!

Along with adding personal flair to the computer desktop, After Dark for
Windows 95 enables users to save both energy and money with the energy
saving technology, EcoLogic. Screen Savers, like After Dark, are activated
when monitors are left on but inactive for a pre-determined period of
time. EcoLogic powers down Energy Star compliant monitors when they are
not in use.

By cutting power to the monitor, EcoLogic can reduce a computer's energy
consumption by almost half. By adding the EcoLogic power management
systems to the screen saving functionality, Berkeley Systems provides
users with an easy and practical tool for maximizing power savings.

The Complete After Dark Collection on CD-ROM is also Windows 95 compatible.
This consummate collection contains over 85 fully animated displays,
nearly every After Dark display ever created.

After Dark for Windows 95 requires users to have a 386 or better running
Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 3.1. Additionally, users must have 8MB RAM
(Windows 95 users) or 4MB free RAM (Windows 3.1 users), and 6MB free hard
disk space. A VGA color display is required (256 colors recommended), as
is a SoundBlaster or compatible sound card.
