America Online, Inc. Announces Interactive Services Marketing Agreement
With Compaq

AOL chosen as "featured" consumer online service on Compaq Presario Home
PCs

Vienna, VA -- September 27, 1995 -- America Online, Inc. announced today
that it has signed a promotion and distribution agreement with Compaq
Computer Corporation, the world's largest supplier of personal computers,
that includes America Online as the "featured" consumer online service
preinstalled on Compaq's newest Presario personal computers targeted at
the consumer market.

All Presarios will provide integrated, easy access to AOL through an
informational multimedia commercial hosted by comedian Dennis Miller.
Additionally, AOL will be co-promoted via advertising, direct mail,
in-store promotions, on hard drives and within the Compaq packaging.

"We're pleased to be partnering with the premier computer manufacturer,
Compaq, to provide AOL as the 'featured' online service for new buyers of
personal computers," said Steve Case, President and CEO of America Online,
Inc. "Distribution plays a key role in this new medium and we believe by
preinstalling AOL we will continue to attract new subscribers to our
growing community of more than 3.5 million members".

Additionally, America Online will create, update, and maintain a
comprehensive Compaq online consumer services area. The companies will
also work together to create new and unique interactive, digital
relationship marketing programs for consumers integrating the Internet,
World Wide Web, CD-ROM and transactional services.
