Vienna, VA -- September 28, 1995 -- America Online, Inc., the world's
largest and fastest growing online service and The Associated Press, the
world's oldest and largest news-gathering organization, announced today
that AP is now offering a package of news photos and multimedia sports
information to AOL's more than 3.5 million subscribers.

The sports stories and photos which are components of AP's recently
announced multimedia sports service AP MegaSports, will be available on
AOL's Sports Channel. America Online subscribers will see hundreds of
sports stories, capsules, round-ups, sports briefs and sports photos
covered every day by AP reporters and photographers at AP's 240 bureaus
around the world.

"We are very proud to have the Associated Press as a media partner," said
Ted Leonsis, President of America Online Services Company. "The vast AP
news and photography resources are unparalleled and we are pleased to have
the opportunity to enhance our news and sports presentation through this
relationship."

In addition to the sports package, America Online is adding a compelling
visual component to the top news stories provided through its Today's News
with photos and captions from the AP photo service.

AP's photographers, Pulitzer Prize winners in both 1994 and 1995, have
captured a series of images that have become icons in human history.
American soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima, the young Chinese student
stopping the military tank in Tienamen Square and Dan Janssen skating
around the Olympic rink with his small daughter after finally winning a
gold medal are just a few of the AP photos familiar to people all over the
world.

"America Online is an exciting, innovative company with a great multimedia
presentation," said Chris Pederson, director of the Associated Press
