Stanford Technology Group, Andyne Announce Partnership

September 6, 1995 -- San Francisco -- Stanford Technology Group, Inc. (STG)
and Andyne Computing, Ltd. today announced that Andyne GQL has been
certified by STG. Andyne GQL, a decision support systems (DSS) application
for relational data sources will now work directly with the
high-performance MetaCube data access engine. The combination gives users
the ability to ask ad-hoc questions of summarized data in order to
identify trends and make strategic decisions. Users achieve this by
leveraging MetaCubes ability to pre-summarize frequently-requested data,
and transparently derive ad-hoc query results based on the optimal
utilization of the summarized data. With MetaCube, Andyne GQL users can
access larger data warehouses with higher performance.

"We are excited to partner with Stanford Technology Group to deliver best
of breed solutions to our customers," said A. Cameron Thompson, president
and CEO of Andyne. "MetaCubes intelligent navigation layer and automatic
summarization features mesh perfectly with Andyne GQL's visual interface
and flexible layers of abstraction, giving users an intuitive,
customizable environment to work in."

"STG's MetaCube combined with Andyne GQL give companies a three-tier,
managed query environment," said Kirill Sheynkman, CEO of STG. "The
complete solution gives businesses the power of multidimensional analysis
while protecting the investment they've made in relational technology."

Stanford Technology Group, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, is a
leading-edge software and services company specializing in relational
database technology and decision support systems. Andyne is a leader in
the development and marketing of Decision Support System (DSS) software
for the Managed Query Environment (MQE) -- the Andyne Integrated Solution
-- with more than 55,000 installations worldwide. The Andyne Integrated
Solution brings together the important sources of business information --
relational databases, multidimensional databases, and structured text
repositories -- in one view, to enable integrated analysis and reporting.
The Andyne Integrated Solution consists of three products: Andyne GQL, an
ad hoc query and reporting tool for relational data sources; Andyne PaBLO,
an OLAP (online analytic processing) client tool for multidimensional data
sources; and Rosetta, the code name for an SGML-based product now in
development that stores and retrieves structured text documents and is
scheduled for release in 1996. The Andyne Integrated Solution, combining
GQL, PaBLO, and Rosetta technologies, will create the first Decision
Support software suite capable of accessing and analyzing information from
relational databases, multidimensional databases and structured text
repositories, in a single view.
