Central software as a 1995 recipient for GATF's prestigious InterTech
Technology award, Adobe Systems Incorporated announced today. Organized
and sponsored by GATF, a special awards committee comprised of technical
experts in the graphic arts industry selected Adobe Color Central as
technology that will have a major impact on industry production and
profitability. Color Central is the leading Open Prepress Interface (OPI)
print and image server software for the professional graphic arts market.
It is designed to improve prepress productivity with its fast print
spooling times and quick image swapping ability between high- and
low-resolution images.

"We are very proud of being awarded the GATF InterTech Award," said Doug
Rank, program manager for Adobe Color Central. "Our goal with Color
Central has always been to provide high-volume prepress businesses a top
performance solution for image replacement. This award validates our
technological approach while assuring our customers of a quality and
customer-oriented product." The criteria for nomination of an InterTech
award stresses that the technology be proven in an industrial application.
GATF notes that winners of the InterTech award tend to reflect the range
of trends impacting the graphic arts industry such as quality control,
automated systems and desktop publishing.

Adobe will be presented its InterTech Award at the upcoming GATF, National
Scholarship Trust Fund, and Printing Industries of America combined annual
conference October 28 - 31 in Williamsburg, Va.
