QUARTERDECK AND VIRGIN INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE JOINT MARKETING
PLANS FOR GAME RUNNER

Cross Promotional Effort Focuses on VIE Games and New Quarterdeck Game
Utility

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 15, 1995--Quarterdeck Corporation (Nasdaq:QDEK)
and Virgin Interactive Entertainment, Inc. (VIE) today announced plans for
a cooperative marketing program for Quarterdeck 's new Game Runner, a
utility suite designed to improve the game-playing performance of both the
computer and the player, and various electronic games published by Virgin
Interactive Entertainment. The announcement was made at PC Expo.

The program includes plans by Quarterdeck to enclose discount coupons and
product literature on select computer games published by VIE in the
Quarterdeck Game Runner packaging. Virgin will likewise include
information on Game Runner in select game packages, and a savings coupon
for Game Runner. The companies also plan to share endcaps and other
in-store promotional activities at various retail outlets.

"We are very excited about teaming up with one of the leading publishers of
cutting edge computer games, Virgin Interactive," said Gaston Bastiaens,
Quarterdeck's president and chief executive officer. "Focusing on the
computer game market is a new direction for us, and the cooperation and
support of Virgin will help bring success to our efforts as well as
increased exposure both to Game Runner and the high-end games produced by
Virgin."

"Our customer feedback has shown that there are three areas in which the
gaming experience can be improved and Quarterdeck's Game Runner addresses
all three: more memory available to the games, speeding up both CD ROM and
hard disk access, and allowing a PC player to access "power ups", thereby
increasing satisfaction," said Rand Bleimeister, vice president of Sales
and Marketing at Virgin Interactive Entertainment. "We chose to work with
Quarterdeck based on their vast experience and success in developing
utility programs."

The program is expected to kick off over the next few months as the
Christmas selling season approaches.

Quarterdeck Game Runner is the first package to provide a suite of
utilities specifically for PC games. Game Runner includes the QEMM Game
Edition from Quarterdeck Corporation, Cache86 from The Aldridge Company,
and introduces The Gamecheater. A few of the Virgin Interactive
Entertainment games that will initially be included in these
cross-promotional efforts include Dune, Dune II, Command & Conquer and
Flight Unlimited.
