LOTUS DEVELOPMENT CORP. ANNOUNCES NOTES REPORTER RELEASE 1.0

New Tool Provides Seamless Reporting and Analysis of Lotus Notes Data

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 19, 1995 -- Lotus Development Corp. today
announced Lotus Notes Reporter for Windows Release 1.0, a new report
writing and analysis tool for Notes. Lotus Notes Reporter for Windows
Release 1.0 is scheduled to ship in the third quarter of 1995 at an
estimated retail price of $59 per unit for orders of 100 units or more.

Lotus Notes Reporter is a read-only report writing tool designed
specifically for Lotus Notes users who need to analyze and report on
information contained in Notes databases. Notes Reporter can access Notes
data transparently from files on a local drive or from Notes server based
databases. With Notes Reporter's intuitive tools, users can easily create
reports, crosstabs, worksheets, charts and mailing labels on Notes data.
Finally, Notes Reporter users can distribute any of the data views
mentioned above via Notes mail.

Notes Reporter is a tremendous addition to the Notes repertoire of any
customer, providing a powerful solution for reporting and analyzing Notes
data, said Jeff Papows, vice president, communications products. Adding
this robust reporting and analysis tool to the line-up of Notes products
installed within a company will enhance productivity and expand the
flexibility of Notes in the organization.

New Notes Normalizer

Breakthrough technology called the Notes Normalizer enables users to
organize Notes information in a relational database model. The Normalizer
copies information stored in Notes multi-value fields into a separate
database, which is automatically joined to the original Notes data. Users
can then perform analysis and create grouped reports quickly and easily.
The original Notes database remains unchanged.

Outstanding Reporting, Analysis and Design Capabilities

Notes Reporter 1.0 provides WYSIWYG report design that lets users view
data, layout and calculations through every step of designing and printing
a report. Built-in Assistants flexibly guide users through report creation
without locking them into predefined steps -- steps can be skipped or
users can backtrack to make new choices. SmartMaster styles provide
professionally-designed layouts to enhance report appearance. Powerful
tools let users create sophisticated grouped summary reports by simply
clicking on SmartIcons.

Lotus Notes Reporter 1.0's worksheet view, complete with powerful crosstab
and charting capabilities further enhances analysis options. The product's
worksheet view functions like a spreadsheet and can be transformed into a
dynamic crosstab by simply dragging and dropping fields. Notes Reporter
1.0 also features the Lotus common chart engine, enabling users to analyze
and present information in a graphical fashion.

Optimized for Notes

Notes Reporter uses PowerKey technology for fast, direct access to Notes.
Based on Intellicache technology, the Notes PowerKey delivers
high-performance, transparent access to any Notes database. Notes Reporter
works directly on Notes data -- no importing or translation is required.

Pricing and System Requirements

Lotus Notes Reporter Release 1.0 will be available in the U.S. at an
estimated retail price of $59 for orders of 100 units or more.
